The Black Hole, 30th Anniversary release - Blu-ray Forum

I know there are other threads but the search didn't seem to find them.

Disney, are you listening? Yes, it's been 30 years and I bought that crummy looking DVD because there is no blu-ray.

There is such wonderful imagery in this movie that deserve the blu-ray treatment. Please Disney, THIS YEAR, while we still have Ernest Borgnine with us! He'll be 92 on 1/24!

It wouldn't hurt if you gave us a black hole "screen saver" on the disc either. It is so beautiful to watch. Most people don't appreciate the 2001: ASO and Blade Runner type qualities of this movie. I find the ending to be artistic.

Chanting, "Black Hole", "Black Hole", "Black Hole"...!

maybe if you start a web page petition that fans could sign?. (I would be happy to sign it also.) and I am sure other's here would to.

maybe if you can get enough signatures and you can get Disney to look at it? they would release it on blu faster. IMO.

We are guranteed two signatures, great.

While Disney should not pass this up, perhaps they were put off by sales of the DVD. Your target audience isn't getting any younger Disney, better do it now.

Long time fave, would LOVE to see this on Blu. And it better have all that gorgeous grain intact - I always thought it helped give the film a darker, grittier look that worked really well with the overall tone of the story.

Definite purchase for me!!!

The storyline is intriguing and intelligent and John Barry's score is absolutely fantastic... atmospheric and poignant.

Flawed movie BUT A must for any serious Sci-Fi collection.

I decided to anger the Blu-ray gods this evening and purchase the iTunes download. This will hopefully ensure we see the movie released on Blu-ray as a DMC exclusive this year. It worked for 2K Leagues anyway. :-P

And here's a little tease for everyone. Tell me this movie wouldn't look excellent in a Blu-ray case! (Sourced from the DVD cover art.)
