Default Anyone run their blu ray through Bose Wave?

I hooked up my Blu Ray player to my Bose Wave system and while its not a receiver per say it sounds pretty decent on the one blu movie I tried it on (Lakeview Terrace). Has anyone else doen this and what results have you had with it?

You mean on the blu ray player or the wave? I'll have to check that.

I'm not sure this will help but I kind of doubt you will get too may responses to your question. Bose is not a nice word around here so the few people that do have that brand of equipment, probably won't say much for fear of being hung, shot, and burned at the stake.

The important question you should ask is to your self... Do you like the results you get. If so, then great. If not, there will be MANY people here glad to offer options of how to get rid of your glorified alarm clock...er, I mean wave radio.

I guess I never realized that people hated bose so much, including you it sounds like. I've been here about 2 years and never got that vibe. I'm truly sorry for starting this thread.

You shouldn't be sorry.

Admittedly, I haven't been here that long but what time I have been has seen multiple posts on why Bose and Monster Cable are overpriced and not well liked.

I apologize if I offended you. That was not my intention. It is true that I don't care for the Bose brand but it's your money and your opinion should be what counts. I tried to express that in my earlier post.

Forums exist for the exchange of ideas, information, and opinions. I was actually trying to be polite when offering mine and express why you may not have many people responding favorably to Bose. I wasn't intending any offense. This is one downside to text only communication. There is no way to accurately judge the mood or intent of the person writing.

If you are looking for people to agree with you and make you feel better about your setup, I'm afraid I can't be one of those people.
As I said before, If you like the results you get, then that is what should matter. You shouldn't let someone else's opinion change your own.

No offense taken, I got the radio as a 30 year anniversary gift from my company so no money out of my pocket. I just thought I would try it and see if it enhanced my blu ray experience and to see if anyone else liked using one. I wasn't looking for anyone to agree with me or make me feel better about using it. Thanks for your input.

The Bose Wave radio is actually a pretty good, if a little overpriced, set top radio. I wouldn't be surprised if you get better sound out of it than your TV speakers.

That being said, it's no substitute for an actual receiver + speakers (even a 2.0 setup would blow it away).

No reason to be sorry to start the thread, it's a perfectly valid thread and you should not bne ashamed of starting it.

However owning bose is more debatable.

So you hooked the wave up to your TV or Blu-ray player. Can you hook a wave radio up to a T.V ?

It wouldn't hook up through the TV, only the Blu Ray player. It can also hook up to my cable box but only to watch TV

I thought about getting my parents one this past Christmas since they don't really have the room for a receiver/speakers/etc. and I thought something like the Wave might be worthwhile. I never got far enough along with that to see if it would work with a blu-ray player or what kind of inputs, etc. it has. Good to know it works and sounds okay. What about the sound in general (CD, radio, etc.)?
