I've got a pile of old dvds that I wanna off, but listing them on the ole eBay would be too much of a hassle. I've got a MovieStop close by and was thinking of selling them my stuff. Is this a good idea? Will they do cash instead of store credit? I've seen their selection and it blows goats, so I'd rather get the skrilla and not the illa if ya catch my drift. Also, how bad are they going to rip me off?

Never heard of MovieStop, maybe because I live in Hawaii and they don't like to have shops from the mainland move over here. They actually closed the Suncoast down here in Hilo which blows. I did frequent the Suncoast in Honolulu but they don't give you jack for DVDs.

They suck and are over priced. They did not give me shit for my DVD's. I unloaded about half my collection to them, because I don't want to go through the trouble of listing them with eBay. I only got about $25. I will try and find the receipt so I can tell you how much and for what. But I don't like how when you buy a movie, even new. They take the movies out of the case and put them in binders and the case on the rack, then some under the counter. They also charge MSRP.

They'll end up giving you an average of about $2 per DVD in my estimation, I dumped a bunch off there once and then realized I could get more like $5 by selling them at work.
They do guarantee the lowest advertised B&M release day price on new BD/DVD releases, but I still stopped going there since I still find better release day prices at Amazon (or Family Video, Deep Discount, CD Warehouse, etc). |

If you trade in four DVDs, my local MovieStop gives you $17 off the price of a new release (non-catalogue) BD. At the end of last year I cleared out a bunch of my daughter's unwatched dvds (Wiggles etc) and got a slew of new releases for approximately $12.50 each.
I've also picked up 20 DVDs for $20 on eBay and used them on for the same deal. |

Mine does a trade four, get the Blu-ray for 50% off promo. They used to do a trade four and get $19.99 credit, so sometimes the new promo is better, sometimes not. Mine's weird on prices, sometimes they'll have something cheaper than everybody else, and sometimes they're just out of left field. I don't go there unless I'm trading though, since they don't match online prices like Best Buy does. Or if they're having a midnight sale for something I'm dying to get, then I'll buy it there and then buy it later at Best Buy and return it to Moviestop
