Default How Rare is The Dark Knight SteelBook™?

Hi

I have read they don't make it anymore and could only be bought at Futureshop.

But I just bought it for $29.99 today and even had a few copies left at Futureshop.

Did they come back into print??

Should I go and buy another Copy of the steelBook or IsIt not ever worth the Drive again for a $29.99 Movie.

I'm just really wondering about this as i've seen tons of Slip Cover ones but never the steelbook.

Don't know if I should go and buy another one

It's kinda hard to say if steelbooks are rare, some say yes, others say no. I know that Jwbudd has a couple copies of certain movies. It you are into collecting them, I guess it couldn't hurt to get one more. But hey, thats just me.

I bought one copy from futureshop and one from amazon.de.

I don't think its rare yet, people bought 50 copies of it and are still selling it on ebay at roughly MSRP prices.

If your a member of certain forums, you can quite easily get a trusted Canadian to pick one up for you. Like I did and I am also in the UK.

As for the exclusivity, try to find a copy of the German release. It's out of print and the value at least doubled. But they obviously haven't released as many copies as Canadians did. And that's the point it all depends of the number of copies. John Rambo was limited to 2000 copies so you hardly find anything cheaper than US$ 250. Even the used ones will sell for US$ 200+

I pre-ordered the Batpod edition and didn't consider buying a movie more than once at that time. Meanwhile things have changed.

The one that was OOP would be the postcards that came with it ( first 1,000 who pre-ordered Batman at Futureshop)

Were you able to get a set?

I've thought about this and I will later this week be returning my SteelBook Copy and buying the Slip Cover one.

Have seen it for around $17.99 used

It hurt me to spend that $32 on a Blu-Ray never have before $24 is my max

Now learning its not rare from you members and almost everyone has it. I can't have it sitting on the self not being able to watch it and know I can only make what I payed if I sell it.

Thanks for your hand everybody in my question

BlurayFanatic I think you misunderstood the meaning.. is not that rare comparing with others, but in my opinion all blu-ray steelbook is worth.. just a matter of time. But you bought only for resell? So you have no feelings with it? Since this is the only steel that you can get I think you should keep it.

I believe what they were trying to say is that.. if you planning on getting more then don't! But keeping 1 would never harm anyone.

I think if any Future Shop in my area had any I would buy them all...
We can't lose money with Blu-Ray Steelbooks, especially those Canadian Exclusive.

How many they had left?

No I bought it for myself and thought the SteelBooks were all Gone with all the auctions I see on ebay trying to get $50+ Dollars.

So I thought I should just double check to see how rare it was and how many copies F/S got.

I was going to drive up on Tuesday and buy another one

and sell the other one as it has No stickers on it

Being a collector, I consider it RARE (even if I got the limited release of the Postcard included with it) as it was and forever be a Store Exclusive.

For the Dark Knight Release - all below that I have are all considered Rare and Collectible. I think it depends on one's perception.

Have you ever had any second thoughts on the effort buying it and then another effort returning it? Given that you ask other's opinion doesnt mean other's answers will conclude your judgment?

Just checked eBay for the different TDK versions. Some say the Canadian steelbook is a 2 disc some it's a 3 disc edition. So who's right?
