Default Laurel & Hardy vs. Abbott & Costello

Laurel & Hardy were always my favorite. Alot of my friends have been comparing the two lately, so I thought I would bring it up on here.

I would say Abbott & Costello never like Laurel and Hardy, now if you would throw in the 3 stooges then I would say them.

Yeah, I was going to, but I thought I'd go with a couple of comedy duos.

Laurel and Hardy definitely are (were) the tops for me. I don't think they have ever really been topped as a comedy duo.

These 2 pairs of duos weren't too bad either:

A really tough call. I'll have to give it some thought as to which I preferred more for this poll.

You are right, I don't think that there will ever be a comedy duo like them again.

I voted for Laurel and Hardy, but only because there was no Three Stooges option. I loved the gentleness of Laurel and Hardy's comedy. Most of the time Laurel did'nt mean to hurt Hardy, it just happened. I wish Hal Roach studios or whoever has the rights to their :20 shorts would put them out on DVD. I have them on VHS, but I can't find them on DVD.

Abbott and Costello. Their comedic talent transends the ages.

Abbott & Costello. Never watch their movies when I'm not in stitches by the end. Plus they went up against the Universal monsters -- they ought to win based on that alone.

I loved both pairs.

I think. I found more character, more magic (as it were), in Laurel and Hardy: than Abbott and Costello.

Watch Way Out West (1937), in the original black-and-white. And you'll see what I mean.

Then again, there's Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948). Another classic.

I would say Laurel and Hardy by a slight margin. There's a little more there. Sons of the Desert (1933). Don’t forget the Music Box (1932). Quite the pair.

But again, I love them both.

Never liked Laurel & Hardy or never WATCHED Laurel & Hardy? Because I don't think I have ever met someone who has seen some of there work and still disliked them.

I agree. Watch "The Music Box" and tell me you don't like them. I laughed so hard when I first seen it that I thought I was going to pull something.

I would go as far as to say that I don't think that they have been topped as far as comedy actors go as well.
