Might have to connect it and then turn the system on. I've had a few times when it took a long time(over a min) to show connection but if i turn the power on with my mp3 player connnected its always there.

I just got my PS3 a few weeks ago, so this is going to more than likely be a dumb question, but I know on my 360, I had to download something to be able to use my iPod on there, then I got the 3 red lights of death not too soon afterward. Anyway, can I plug my iPod into my PS3 and stream music from it?

As long as there's no DRM in the tracks you want to play from the iPod, you'll be fine. |

I hooked up my ipod nano to the PS3 about a month ago and it said the USB device was not supported...but you can still access it. Shin-Ra mentioned a very important peice of information. You need to press the Triangle button and select the veiw all files option...this will show you all the files but it is in itunes language. it will not list the files by song names and they are not in any order so you can listen to the music but it is a quessing game. You will have to save the song to the HDD and rename it manually. I am not sure if this is for all Mp3 players or just the ipods.

The the OP: No idea how the Zen works.
With iPods, iTunes creates its own folders to store the songs. Like Danv1369 said, iTunes have its own system of storing songs. The name of the songs, unless they are files NOT created by iTunes like an MP3 download, will be jumbled up. iTunes creates a system directory for the actual song names that only iTunes and the iPod can decrypt. So all of the songs you stored in your iPod are accessible to the PS3 but you can't figure its name. fuad |
