Default Region Locked

I was wondering if a blu ray is region locked, can you still play it on a computer blu ray player? For example I know when I've bought region locked dvd's to Europe buy my USA computer can play it even when my dvd player can't because it's region locked to Europe. The computer just asks if I want to change my region to Europe, and presto... now I'm watching a Europe region locked dvd on a US computer.

Does this work with Blu Ray comps too?

BDrom drives in computers are software driven and therefore its almost impossible to say if it would do what your asking since every manufacturer would use a different piece of software. Without vigilant testing i'm pretty sure nobody can give a global answer.

I would say some people may have software which can over ride the regional coding.

Every computer (ie the Blu-Ray/DVD ROM drive) will allow 5 changes of the region. So yes.

Just get AnyDVD and your problem is solved.

the program i use gives me this option. but ive never tried it. it also states somewhere that once the 5 changes are made, it will stay on whatever region its at no matter what. so make sure the 5th change is the region you want.
