Amazon has listed Scary Movie for 10/23 release.

I know Scary Movie 4 is out on HD-DVD (Weinstien?)

Are we going to see them all from Disney since this is an older Dimension title, or does Weinstien have the rights to them all now?

Weinstein has the rights to the Dimension catalog from a certain year up (2005?), so any new ones including 4 will be Weinstein (though 4 is available in the UK on BD from Disney). BD will get the first three Scary Movies as well as all the Scream's, etc.

Makes sense for it to come out right before halloween. We will probably see more movies of the type come out the same time.

Haven't seen the 4th one but the First is a buyer and second not. Third one is a maybe.

It's not amazing, but decent enough for its price (under $5 right now on Amazon). I wish they'd release an anniversary edition with all the added TV scenes.

Agreed, and in 16x9. If you get a chance compare the 16x9 tv broadcast to the blu, I'd rather have the extra on the top & bottom...this is a comedy where the focus of the picture is in the center, not an epic action film that benefits from a panoramic view.

Man this really is DNRed all to hell, just compared it to netfix, yikes! I really do hope we get a better quality release in 16x9 at some point.

This movie needs a new transfer badly but I don't think a 4K release is coming anytime soon.

I was hoping we might get a 20th Anniversary release for this with an alternate version considering there is a TV version with bonus scenes along with a work print version. It’d be awesome if Shout could get their hands on this and release 1-4 in a collection set.

The first three are Miramax films and are now under Paramount for home video.

The fourth is a Weinstein Company film, now under Lantern Entertainment, and maybe still distributed by Lionsgate on home video.

I was wondering what happened with the first three - hopefully Paramount does something with them.
I remember the fourth was released by vivendi on Blu-ray.

All the Miramax titles that Paramount just re-released are the same disks.
