I was at Best Buy last night talking about a problem with my TV with an employee and we walked past one of the best BD promo displays ive ever seen. Nice big 1080p crystal clear TV, displaying BD, with the BD logo plastered all over and a shelf of at least 30 titles, the looked like they had actually been being bought too. I turned to my left and what do i see another huge cart/shelf full of blu-rays. I figured HD DVD was on the next side, NOPE, DVDs!. I asked the employee how Blu-ray was selling. He was just kind of like, "eh all right i guess." I was kind of disappointed that they wern't flying off shelves, but i figured he could be a HD DVD fanboy. So i asked if HD DVD was selling well. He gave me this look and laugh like "are you kidding me??" and then gave an emphatic No. My whole time there i didn't even see an HD DVD case, but im sure they are there somewhere probably by movies, but certainly not in a nice spot. Anyways to go on, there is no way that BBwas carrying as many HD DVDs as BDs. In fact I have yet to see a store in the St. Louis area carry more HD DVDs than BDs. My mall has 3 stores with BD, 1 with HD DVD, the one that does carry both formats has a 2:1 favor with BD. All 3 walmarts that I got to have much more shelf space and stock for BD and then Best Buy just put the icing on the cake last night as far as my thinking that HD DVD just isn't selling in B&M stores very well. As this continues and HD DVD gets less and less shelf space I would expect higher numbers on sites like amazon. expect flame and FUD from these idiot as they try to make it sound like HD DVD is "catching up". Also all these stupid firesales are just proof that Toshiba is very desperate and the fact that even during these firesales that BD is outselling HD DVD is just more proof that BD will reign supreme. No matter how much the DUD fan boys want to spike and make inconsitant data online, they can't dodge the Nielsen numbers everyweek and they can't dodge the fact that the only place that HD DVD has even a slight chance of competing against BD is America. Sorry for the length just kind of wanted to write about how great blu-ray is.
