Since the Japanese DVD didn't have English subs, I doubt this will too sadly.

Still surprised they didn't release the first film when AXM hit blu-ray.

Geneon US was gone by then and I don't know if anyone got the rights to the original.

Also, someone on AoDVD forms (Mania forums) claimed A: ExM is coming to Japan also, though I haven't seen any news on that. For those wondering why that might be a big deal, the Japanese HD-DVD was done by Pony Canyon and had an AVC Encode and Japanese TrueHD 5.1 (48/24) as well as English Subs. Blu-ray will most likely be exactly the same.

The license for Appleseed (first CG movie) was recently rescued by another company (I believe it was FUNimation), so we might see a U.S. release eventually.

ADV has re-aquired the license,but if they ever get around to Blu-ray(as in ever) i could see them putting out Evangelion first.
