Default Sony l STR-DG920 l $399

Hello

Does anyone know of this receiver for this pricing or less?

I have a previous quote of $450 and I am currently looking to acquire it for as low as possible.

As this product is being phased out at this time, it is of some interest currently, as I might purchase sometime tomorrow depending on things.

I would have gotten on of the Yamaha RX-V663's at Fry's Electronics a few weeks ago on clearance for $300, but I did not know of it before the sale ended, and it appears that it is currently back to full retail there.

Any factual information or thoughts would be appreciated, including negative information on this receiver.

I look forward to hearing from anyone at your convenience.

Thank You

I'm in Canada, so the pricing will be a bit different, but I sold a demo model for $399

If you have a quote on it you should jump on it. I was looking the other day for the 920 but couldn't find anyone that still had them. This receiver is basically the same as the 2400ES minus the pre-outs and the rs232 port. I love my 920, it is powerful and clean sounding, the GUI is easy too. I know on guy here Mr Roy likes his 920 better then his previous Onkyo 605.

If your looking for negatives, you will find plenty of people here that don't like Sony as a receiver company. Although in all fairness this Sony is quite a good one and matches well with the likes of the Pioneer 1018 and Yamaha 663, which were both on my list of receiver I wanted, but ended up getting the Sony. I have had no regrets, its a great receiver.

Only negative is that there are no Pre-outs.

Default Sony l STR-DG1200

Hello

I forgot about this unit, and before I commit to the STR-DG920 in the coming days, I would like to know what the exact differences are between these two units.

Any reliable information, pricing, especially comparative information, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Don't forget that the Sony STR-DN1000 will be replacing the 920 in July. It's quite a bit different looking, and stands differently from the entire Sony line of receivers.

It will list for $599, but will likely come in much less expensively on a variety of reputable online dealers.

Yep, the 920 is a def upgrade from the 605. If you can find it at a good price, I would recommend it. I got mine for $399 from B&H Photo. I am not sure if they still stock them.
