He said what? Yeah, I don't get it either. I don't think Stallone is involved in any way:

Quote:
StudioCanal has announced that it will be teaming with Neal Moritz's production company to reboot Sylvester Stallone's 1993 film "Cliffhanger." The plan is to take the original Renny Harlin-directed film and turn it into a big-budget thriller that will center on a group of young climbers.

"Just as they rebooted 'Star Trek,' we're going to do the same with 'Cliffhanger,'" said Moritz, who will produce. Unlike the original, where Italy stood in for the Colorado Rockies, the new film looks set to feature multiple cliff-face locations.

At this point, the goal is to find a screenwriter and to begin shooting the film by 2010.

From JoBlo.com

Quote:
While director Renny Harlin's original "DIE HARD in the snow" action flick involved Sly's former ranger caught up in a heist gone wrong, the new version will focus on a group of younger climbers who probably text and tweet while securing carabiners. U R FALLING, ROFL

Maybe they can call it cliff limit or vertical hanger or even vertical cliff hanging to the limit.

But Cliffhanger only had one film. It was a fun film. What's the point? Just name it "group of stupid young climbers who get into hijinks while climbing".

I actually enjoyed Cliffhanger too. I feel like Stallone possibly threw in too many "Rambo-esque" moments of character self-pity, but it was a fun movie. It really was "Die Hard in the snow".

Also- "UR FALLING, ROFL"... PRICELESS!

I liked the movie too but a remake is not needed. No how, no way. Movieland is out of ideas.

I would much rather prefer a remake of Alive, that is made specifically for in-flight movies. I have always wanted to be on the plane that watches Alive just to see children cry..........

Ok but why? The movie isn't a classic and I don't think it raked in the cash the first time. What would be the point of doing a remake? And compare it to Star Trek? Im sure Star Trek has a few more fans than Cliffhanger.
