Default One of the first films to use HDTV technology...

Isn't even on DVD!

Peter Greenaway's Prospero's Books (1991)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102722/

Honestly, this would look AWESOME on Blu-ray, but that's pretty slim chance when it's not even released on DVD. Maybe the intelligent UK folks would get their hands on this?

Given the fact that Greenaway used so much "layered" imagery in Prospero's Books, it may not look that spectacular on Blu-Ray. I saw the film in the theatre, and I remember the picture as being somewhat soft. Nevertheless, I would love to have it on Blu to replace my old laserdisc! (And while "they" are at, the rest of his films need to make the jump to HD as well, starting with The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her Lover.)

You have the Laserdisc? Is it the pan & scan 1.33:1 version or in its OAR of 1.78:1?
I heard that Criterion are planning to release 'The Cook The Thief..' on DVD, but it remains to be seen whether they release it on Blu-ray.
