What are your thoughts on Collector Editions?

I'm talking about shelf space hogging ones. Like the Dark Knight batpod statuette case or the Hellraiser Lament Configuration box set. Which is the only one I have (two if you can count the Blind Dead box set which comes in a nifty coffin box). What ones do you think is cool? What do you want Collector Editions to have? Are they lame altogether? Games apply to this too.

I really love collector's editions no matter if it's a movie or a videogame that I want. I usually go for the best version to choose from. Like some of my videogame collector's editions come with like a soundtrack, or maybe like a movie, figurine, a cd-rom disc, artbooks, t-shirt, steelbook cover, and so on. I really do think more collector's editions should be made.

Crap, I also forgot my Evil Dead Necronomicon Edition I have. I was a little disappointed with the Lament Confiuration since it didn't come with anything else but the movies inside the box and, of course, a blu-ray version of Hellbound. But there isn't a Hellbound blu-ray available yet. At least here in the States.

Presentation wise, if blu-ray was around when I was a kid I probably
would have loved those big boxes of goodies. Now I just want something
that will fit on my stack with the other BDs. As for the additional content, I
don't always watch the extras but its nice to know I can down the road.
