Who says 3D is dead? Certainly not while the 3DFA lives and breathes!

Here is the YouTube announcement from Bob Furmanek of 3D Film Archive announcing this. It is a really interesting video as it gives some good background on the movie.

Can't wait!!!

There are several reasons for the long delay in getting MFH released.

Wallis-Hazen had left Paramount shortly after production and were in negotiations with Warner Bros. to distribute. They eventually worked out a deal with Paramount.

Martin and Lewis had their production of THE CADDY set for an August release and the studio did not want two of their films competing for business.

Of course, these details - and a whole lot more - will be covered in the new documentary!

Bob, you did a great job on the YouTube announcement video... Really nice insights into the movie and background. As a backer, I'm excited about Robot Monster coming soon but think I'm even more excited about this one!

I'll get this for the 3D and to support the cause but I really can't stand Jerry Lewis.

... I look forward to learning the full story!

It's always interesting to me to learn contextual details about films shooting at the same time, before and after. I would guess Flight to Tangier must have gone into production later, but came out first. Then that was that for the Dynoptic system, and 3 strip Technicolor would come to the end of the road shortly after. Perhaps there were subsequent Dynoptic plans that were dropped, or maybe that's beyond the scope of the documentary. No doubt it will answer many questions I had and more.

This promises to be a very special release.

Thank you Bob, Kino and Paramount for this gem. That 3-D camera rig is insane! The sheer engineering brilliance is mind blowing. I can’t wait for more news as this project progresses.

I often put "coming soon" in the thread titles of newly announced releases, it helps visitors know the Blu-ray is coming.

In any case "soon" is relative, 2024 isn't that far away as far as I'm concerned but even if it takes until 2025 so what? It's better to get it done properly than to rush it.

Just in time for the 70th anniversary!

Only 2% of bookings were for the 3-D version in 1954 so this will be the premiere wide stereoscopic release!

No need to worry, this is a massive restoration undertaking and I’m sure it’s gonna take a while. Super amped for this.

We have not gotten the raw scans yet. Instead we showed restored clips from THE MAN WHO WASN’T THERE.

It is coming soon - not very soon, but soon. "Soon" is deliberately vague because there's no release date.
