Setting up Yamaha 663

Another question....

Everything is set up.....speakers test and tweaking using auto feature all ok.......now,......

I have a 6.1 set up.....

I selected MIX on Sony 550 (which I think means the player is decoding)
I went into the manual setup on the 663, selected extended surround, EX/ES

Played a 5.1 True HD, got a PCM + extended surround ex/ex display, and my
6th speaker was working.

Played a 5.1 DTSMA, got a PCM + extended surround ex/ex display, and my
6th speaker was also working.

I guess my question, is , am I missing something.......should be getting the sixth speaker with PCM and ex/es with DTS?

Also, tested both using DIRECT on sony 550, and could not matrix sixth speaker, which supports what I have read that the 663 can not decode and matrix.

That is the reason I purchased the 550, so that it would decode, and I could matrix with the 663.

Am I on the right track....?
