I'm not sure about amp difference yet. Room difference yes. Course I have them pulled way further out into the room. Also, volume is up much higher in the office. Based on the specs for bass I'm guessing some serious breakin is stil needed. But my listening has been cut short as daddy duties have called upon me. I will be back with more thoughts and pics.

I hear that 6-12 inches is far enough. since they are front ported they dont need so much distance from the back wall.

i hear you on the daddy duties, my wifes asleep and my 2.5 yr old refuses to go to sleep. im just watching tv, basic instinct.

my wife has a ladies night out tomorrow, itll be me and the kids at an in-house rock concert tomorrow, featuring jimi hendrix and a few others.

my dealer asked me why i didnt talk you into the dynaudio dm2/6s, i told him i tried. he laughed.

That Yamaha is not your typical Yammie. That amp is a member of the Legendary M and MX series (it's actually a Nelson Pass design if I'm not mistaken). It's a very musical amp indeed.

Yeah there were times I was really tempted to get something cheaper and just be done with it. Keep the change and spend it somewhere else. But for me, I wanted to make sure I wasn't just buying a stepping stone. Sancho, sounds like a great deal to me. Let me know how you like them!

Some more thoughts on the Dali's. I am really impressed by the clarity in the highs to mid treble. There is a version of Habenara that I like but whenever the soloist really belts it out (even with the rockets) it sounds a little congested. Distorted. With these it is clean all the way through. Sound is still a bit too forward but it is getting better with break in. Still waiting for a little more bass to kick in but that too has improved. These speakers can really put out sound. Also, sweet spot is huge and imaging is great. Really starting to have that almost electrostatic ability to disappear.

Is there a website to purchase the Dalis online. I went to their website but couldn't find any local dealers listed.

you might be experiencing more air, extension and detail, then you are used to, which right now you are percieving as forward, and the way youre describing the Rockets seem to be more laidback and probably rolled off as well in the highs. Break-in will help, but also breaking-in your ears will be part of the process. When I switched from Energy to my Dynaudios, I felt the sound was sometimes bright, but now I realized they just offer better Air, Extension and detail, and when I hear other speakers I notice they are rolled off or they are more conjested or veiled, tinny, bright, warm, as the Dyns tend to be pretty neutral and very revealing. Similar to what youre getting in the Dalis.

Very good point. Just because a speaker cost less does not make it inferior. Don't think any one would argue that. I know I would jump on any of the Klipsch palladium stuff if it was ever in my price range.

I was referring to buying a speaker out of convenience. I was really tempted to go with the Kef C1
http://www.accessories4less.com/make...r-Black/1.html

I thought it sounded great. There were a bunch of other speakers as well.

Really great. Noticeable bass improvement. Things have been moving kinda slowly as I have a newborn son. I plan on posting more thoughts in the Dali owners thread and linking this thread to it. Updates soon.

Hi! I have a pair of Dali Zensor 1īs as my front speakers and thinking of getting Dali Zensor Vokal for the center. Would DLS Flatbox Slim Mini go as a surround speaker with the Dalis?
