Its a software limitation of the XBox UI, the Blu-ray player being made by Microsoft is one of the few apps allowed to access the 3D capability of the system.

I've just got my G6 from LG and looking for 4K+3D player. I'm a big fan of 3d movies so 3d support is critical.
Its the same UI as the XBox One and One S so yes.

I wonder if someone's actually tested 3d playback already. Or if there is any official tech specification doc that lists 3d support. Can't find it myself.

I was able to play the documentary disc from 'Kingdom of Plants 3D' with the Xbox one S, which I thought was region B. My (now deceased) Panasonic and (still alive) Sony BD players wouldn't play the disc. Does anyone know if the Xbox is region free? I kinda doubt it, but I'm not sure why it will play the disc and the stand alone players won't.

I literally just bought a Xbox One S on Monday and I tried to play Transformers The Last Knight in 3D and it was not working. I thought it was my TV or 3D glasses at first cause it was really weird. The TV was in 3D mode and the movie was playing just fine but it was only playing one eye. Basically it was playing in 2D in 3D mode. Put my regular panasonic blu-ray player on it and playback was perfect. Has anyone else ran into this problem and there any way to fix it?

I'm not an Xbox guy, but I think there's an Audio/Video options area.

When you get to TV settings, I think you can do Auto-detect for features.

Or you can edit your TV settings on Xbox and just check the 3D box.

After that, I assume it would allow 3D playback for you.

If you already had 3D checked, then this sounds like a glitch.

I have done this and I'm still getting this problem. I have not checked for an update but I will. The TV is in 3D mode correctly but the Xbox seems to putting out a 2D picture in 3D mode.

Default Xbox one x

So I just pre ordered the XBOX ONE X because I値l be upgrading the tv to a 4K Sony OLED soon and I知 wondering what everyone痴 thoughts are.

It appears that it only supports 5.1 Dolby Atmos and 7.1 PCM so that knocks out my ability to use it in my home theater that I知 building when we close on a new home in a few weeks. Looking to do 7.1.4 so I値l need a stand alone player it appears. I want 11 Channels and subwoofer in the dedicated theater room. Or am I wrong?

I don't see myself making the jump to the XBOX One X. Nothing out there game-wise does it for me, I am still about four to five XBOX One games I have which I haven't started and since I don't see myself making the jump to a 4K television for probably 8-12 months I can't justify spending $500 on a gaming system that I won't really get any benefit from that my current XBOX One system can handle.

If Microsoft really wanted more people to jump on the bandwagon they would have priced them more aggressively or given more on a trade-in for current XB1 owners. For those of you who pick one up, post up your thoughts after you get it, especially those with 4K set-ups.

You may want to wait for Black Friday if you haven't thought about that, I am sure there will be some great BF deals on 4K televisions, or even in late December or around the Superbowl next year when retailers are giving deals to move out the 2017 models when the 2018 models are announced at CES, etc.

Does anybody know for sure if this will include 3D playback for movies?

99% sure it will, because MS has said it's exactly the same OS as Xbox One.

They won't want any bad press in that Dept (even PSVR does 3D).

But, MS has fell down in the past specifically with regards to it's audio support.

As such, very few people recommend Xbox as a primary movie playback device.

For $500, you could buy a top of the line Oppo...

Thanks

I actually have that top of the line Oppo. I know it would be blasphemy, but if I did get an X, I would have considered selling the Oppo. That's why I asked, especially since I will likely never have a fancy surround sound system capable of the latest audio.

Just to confirm since it wasn't 100% confirmed, the Xbox One X does play 3D Blu-ray discs. I tested it yesterday with Wonder Woman and it played it just fine.

Anything unusual about 4K disc playback?

In another thread, someone said MS has a 'color bug' in it's UHD player.

MS did get Atmos working with Xbox X, which I'm sure some found shocking.
