Not out to start an argument here but what some ways you feel it is better? I for one would have gone Sony myself as I have in the past with 90% of my previous sets had Sony a) been in the same price range at the time I bought mine and b) had 3d which my c6 does

Unfortunately that is how it is, also to complicate things even more most (if not all) digital copies that redeem in UHD on Vudu will be Dolby Vision. I dont have that movie so I cant tell you if it does or what is the best way to redeem it to make sure it does but I use this a lot

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1361298330

Looks like it will if redeemed through here:

https://my.vudu.com/redeem.html?pdefid=10:3137

Dont know if thats for US only though

Best of luck and keep us updated please

Anyone have any more input on pros and cons of an extended warranty with the OLED? This is my first OLED, but my second LG. My first one I purchased a five year extended warranty on it and ended up using it twice. Once for the speakers, and once for the main board. So problems could occur that aren't related to burn in..

I bought the squaretrade warranty from Costco for this exact reason. While I am aware that burn in is not covered, I want to be covered for anything else that could possibly come up.

How much of an issue is burn-n with OLEDs? I remember when I bought my plasma everyone kept telling be about the problem with burn-ins with plasma... but I never had a problem. Is this the same with OLEDs?... more hype about a problem than actually exists?

For those of you interested in the best Dolby Vision quality streaming, I highly suggest using Chromecast Ultra. I have compared picture and motion quality against Dolby Vision on LG WebOS and CC Ultra by far bests LG internal apps for Dolby Vision playback (Netflix, VuDu)

Do you have a time stamp of where it happens? I had my C7P calibrated by Chad B. He calibrated Technicolor mode, ISF Day mode, Game mode, HDR, SDR, Dolby Vision and Game HDR and checked all of my sources to make sure they are on the optimal settings. I want to see if I can see what you're seeing. Thanks!

I finally received the 55" C7 along with the Oppo UDP-203 from Value Electronics (Thanks again Robert). I can't wait to get the tweak settings from him (he said it will be about 90% accurate).

I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to get an OLED, it just may be a few years as I need to put aside cash slowly and get a bit more out of my current set beforehand. I got a Vizio P series last year and while I'm quite happy with the set overall, there's little things that stick out in the back of my mind that keep me from being 100% satisfied with it.

Yep titles so far that have been mentioned as having this problem:

crouching tiger hidden dragon
la la Land
close encounters of the third kind
ET

Close encounters of the third kind is particularly bad and loads of people have been complaining. I'd love to have settings for my E7 to make it like everyone else who sees this movie perfectly

I notice this phenomena while watching Netflix 4K HDR: The Punisher (S1E1) he's in the bathroom stall, and the whole stall is like grain dancing around. Kinda strange to see, but still a great PQ.

Well, let's see... I made a video for CROUCHING TIGER about a month ago to try and present what my LG OLED65C7 was showing, in an attempt to allow others to view the video on their OWN screens to determine (a) if my TV looked as flaky as theirs, or if (b) others thought it looked fine.
Unfortunately, Youtube removed it within 10 minutes lol

In my opinion, I think CROUCHING TIGER looked great, and there were a few scenes that felt a little heavier than I prefer in terms of grain "prominence", but even so, it was nowhere near as distracting to me as others claim it is on THEIR OLED screens.
I did not see ET or LA LA LAND in 4k, but I also own CLOSE ENCOUNTERS on 4k. I watched it a couple weeks ago.
I think it looks freaking fantastic, and there was not a single scene that made me question the validity of the grain present on the screen. Although CROUCHING TIGER never made me angry, there were some moments where I felt it was more excessive than I prefer. I never thought this while watching CLOSE ENCOUNTERS.

I mention this in case there may be others with an LG OLED TV that doesn't agree. Since I can't easily post video as an example of what I am seeing, maybe my assessment of the two movies on the list will help gauge what others see, or feel about the "film grain result".

Well, I'm reading and seeing (via a Youtube video) so much about image retention and burn-in with OLED that I'm doubting now I'll ever get one.

I've had a plasma for 8 years and never had any issues with burn-in with it honestly. I'm not much of a sports person so I tend to watch movies and a few shows on and OLED seems like a much more logical upgrade for my needs than the Vizio was.

Based on my reading online, the burn in is mostly affecting the 2016 OLED models.
