All but one (collector’s edition documentary) and BEGINS gets its own dedicated bonus disc because of the new transfer.

9 disc set vs 6 disc set.

Just going by what I can see in the screenshots. The film looked like that originally in the 35mm screenings with the teal push an' all.

I remember watching the BD when it first came out and being really confused as to why the film looked so different colourwise.

Ahh cool, then!

I dunno how some of you folks do it...I can't remember what I did yesterday let alone the color timing of a movie I saw in the theater YEARS ago.

My memory's shite most of the time haha!

I think it's due to the fact that I remember it looking so different when the BD first came out that it kind of stuck with me.

Plus I did a bit of digging around on the web when the 4K discs were announced.

God bless originaltrilogy.com

The standard operating procedure around here -- especially for highly anticipated titles -- is the exact opposite. With about one week to go, someone will get an early look, or claim to get an early look, and will report that the PQ or AQ is awful -- which sends the thread into a tizzy of whining, recriminations, and the ever-present "pre-order cancelled."

Then release day comes around, and one of the regulars who didn't freak-out will actually get the disc, and report back that everything is fine -- far from the disaster initially reported. In fact, it will be the opposite -- the movie will look better than it ever has.

Then we discover that the original poster was watching on a 1080 SDR television, on a download, through a fishbowl or some other top-notch gear.

Rinse, lather, repeat.

I know the consensus is he's supervising them all but I don't recall reading anything to support that. The only one I remember was as Italian interviewer, during a Dunkirk interview, asking whether TDK trilogy was getting remastered and whether Nolan was involved, to which he replied, "very much so."

Hmm I could've sworn that was about TDK trilogy only, when I saw it. Cheers for the correction

But still that gives us no clue on how much of an improvement it is, I mean wasn't he there when they did the original transfer?
I know the technology was new but still.

I think he cared mostly about theatrical presentation of his movies, that's why TDK ended as a mess on Blu-ray, but now?

Quote:
4K Blu-ray with HDR is an incredibly exciting new home video format that allows a much closer recreation of viewing the original film print," said Christopher Nolan. "The deeper color palette comes closer to matching the analogue colors of film and we've restored the original theatrical mixes for this release. If you can't rewatch these films in the theater, this is the best experience you can have in your own home.

Pic of the 4K scan and it does appear they got the color timing right with the blue tint. https://imgur.com/GpY0WZ4

I'm new to 4K and was wondering if the Blu-ray copies that along with the 4K version are improved as well or just brought over from the original release. Can anyone confirm this with past movies released.
