Received a response from AGFA on Twitter...

"Sorry, no plans for these to hit bluray from AGFA."

Bummer...

For now.....

A boxset of these would be a dream.

Interesting to note, under film catalog on their site, anything listed as 'DCP, Blu-ray' has a retail blu-ray out except for these newly listed Shaw Bros titles (which has blu-ray listed for all), that I can tell.

I bought this on whim, total blind buy so I'm hoping it's a good one too. Didn't read the review, but quickly skimmed through and it isn't very positive. Still going in with an open mind, seems like something I would normally enjoy.

So I watched The Sword and the Claw the other night. Kind of surprised no one is talking about this release. Absolute insane and whacky fight scenes. Horrible editing, dialogue that makes no sense, and possibly the worst dubbing I've ever seen. Loved every minute of it! What a blast Started to watch Brawl Busters but didn't make it. From the first few minutes I did see, it looked to be more of the same insanity. So looking forward to checking that out.

So the Deep Throat Part II set has a fourth feature. A Touch Of Genie isn't funny or sexy and I wasn't but maybe I just have to plus I want to support the series.

I watched both.

Both awesome. I think in the moment I actually liked Brawl Busters better because it is even more insane, even more ridiculous, and has even more action... BUT Sword and the Claw is by far the more memorable of the two with more quotable lines and more unique scenes.

GIVE ME TWO CLAWS THE SIZE OF LIONS AND PUT THEM ON THESE ARMS!!!! (or something like that). Classic!!

Watched this tonight and feel the same way. Followed it up with Brawl Busters and can confirm it's every bit as nutty as The Sword and the Claw, both where a blast!!

It's a rough presentation, but can't complain for such a cool bonus feature. I was only going to check out a few minutes and just couldn't turn it off, very entertaining!!

Just finished Brawl Busters and have to agree, very entertaining. Couldn't tell you what it was about, because it made little sense to me. But entertaining nonetheless with some great action/fight scenes. Overall really enjoyed the hell out of this release, especially The Sword and the Claw. Ended up pre-ordering The Soultangler dvd and am really looking forward to it.

Here's the scoop on Joe Sarno Vol. 3. I'm still on the fence. Mary Mendum doing comedy is intriguing and 20 years ago I would pay $20 for a VHS of a Jess Franco movie with Dutch subtitles so watching The Switch will either be nostalgic or just a drag. A Touch Of Genie is a soft core edit but that can't really hurt. Perhaps Joe Sarno was to comedy what Ingmar Bergman was to comedy.

The Switch may well be my favorite Sarno film which makes it all the more painful that no film negative or prints have been found. My VHS copy has no burnt in subs but the caps shown for this look better. I'll probably pay the big bucks just for that

The negative survives. Distribpix owns it. I scanned it for them a few months back.

There's a gorgeous foreign PAL DVD of the film that includes some previously unseen footage, including a couple of "Continental" images if you look closely enough. Somebody should import that transfer to US home video.

Coming in July...

Quote:
A new 2K transfer of the most berserk and deranged creature feature in the history of forever!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the petting zoo, you meet . . . GODMONSTER OF INDIAN FLATS! Written and directed by infamous outsider artist Fredric C. Hobbs (ALABAMA'S GHOST), this is the story of an eight-foot-tall toxic sheep monster that blows up gas stations, smashes crooked politicians, and terrorizes stoners! From the surreal "wild west" locations to the outrageous monster effects, GODMONSTER OF INDIAN FLATS is easily the most berserk, out-of-control, and inexplicably deranged creature feature in the history of forever. This includes the scene where the Godmonster crashes a children's picnic. In the words of legendary filmmaker Frank Henenlotter, "Get the straight jackets ready!"

Special Features:
* New 4K transfer from the only surviving 35mm theatrical print!
* Rampaging monster trailers from the AGFA vaults!
* Berserker shorts from the Something Weird vaults!
* Bonus Movie: THE LEGEND OF BIGFOOT (1975), a new 2K scan from an original theatrical print!
* Reversible cover art with illustration by Shana Cleveland!
