I wanna show off my UHD collection too!
[Show spoiler]OK, so I only bought it to get the bonus features discs that were previously in the OOP 5-disc release that currently goes for $50+ on the secondary market, but who can blame me?

^^Nice display!
I like the Matrix DVD set with the sliding trays and Neo bust. I have that set as well and it is one of my favorites.

My collection so far. Nothing is alphabetized, but there's a method to my madness, and I know where everything's at. More or less.

My collection is a little scattered

Shelf 1: Regular

Shelf 2: Anime

Shelf 3: Horror

Shelf 4: TV shows (Looney Tunes isn't a TV show technically, but for the sake of organization, I put it in with my TV collection)

Shelf 5: (This one is complicated with organization) 4K, Boutique labels (Criterion, Kino), Japanese Blus, Region B, Box sets, digibooks, double/triple features, James Bond, and steel books.

FINALLY got a new bookshelf for my movies.

First shelf is all steelbooks. 2nd row is the rest of the steelbooks and some random BDs. 3rd row is 4K UHD steelbooks and regular 4K UHDs. 4th row is the rest of my 4K UHDs and pretty much everything else onward. 5th row has some box sets in front of everything else.

Got plenty of other bookshelves and places for my movies now.

To the best of my knowledge I've never posted my collection before. I figured I should do so now before Spring arrives as my wife and I will be looking to move to a new home this Spring/Summer and my set up will change dramatically in the event that we move. At the moment my collection is spread across my living room and my basement. In the event we move I'll be looking for a home with a room that I can convert into a full theater, and a second room to house my movies, video games, comic books, etc. I'd like to borrow a page from cinemassacre to a certain extent and try to recreate a video store environment but that's a goal that may never be achieved. Either way, for now here's how things look.

Up first is the Living room Shelves. This is everything that I own that does not fall into the Horror/exploitation/Vinegar-Syndrome / tv categories. Normally the shelves are decorated but my wife was in the middle of cleaning/redecorating today so the tops were empty.

Up next is my Horror/Exploitation collection (first two shelving units) along with my tv collection on the 3rd shelving unit. I have about 100 DVD's still boxed up from a move that fell through last fall that are not pictured, but I don't have the space for them anyways as I need another shelving unit for these genre films.

And here are spoilered close up shots of the individual units for the horror/exploitation/tv shelves.

I'm envious of you Americans and your slimmer blu-ray cases, they look so nice all lined up together compared to our 14mm cases here in the UK.

I actually quite like the UK cases. They're very sturdy, and I don't think i've ever seen one that is an eco case, that we tend to often get.

One or two might appear nice but trust me when you have hundreds of them they take much more space and the spines don't look as neat on a shelf like the US cases.

I agree. I import quite a bit and never enjoyed the thick cases that the UK seemed to stick with all these years. IIRC Sony here in the US used those thick Vortex cases, early on, and I typically replaced them. Sometimes it was a little bit of a challenge cutting the art jacket to fit the slimmer case.

I imagine once you reach a collection of 1000+ they are annoying but personally I've always enjoyed the thicker, more collectors edition looking, (in my opinion) packaging/cases that many UK releases have came with. I have quite a few UK sets of franchises I've imported over the years, (namely Warner Bros releases) but a handful of other indie films as well that never got a release in the US.

Every UK disc I've ever gotten, the case came in perfect condition.

About 3 to 4% of my American Blu Ray's have had some type of case damage. (Outside of Criterion). Yeah, they're smaller and take up less space, but they are also pretty fragile.

Mark me down as an American that likes the UK cases.

I'm about to buy about 30 or 40 cases to replace the cases I currently have that are damaged and the damaged cases I will surely receive in the future.

The spine would still be too wide for the US cases. By cutting the sides, youíre simply just making it look scruffy.
