Well, I feel like a real turd, but this discussion between you and me has led to my discovery that, in the thirteen months I’ve lived in my new home, I never hooked my LaserDisc player back up. It allows hook up via RCA cables, component cables or S-video cable. None of the four TVs in my home offer RCA or S-video jacks (technology marches on, eh) and I can’t find a set of component cables anywhere in the house. Long story short, it looks like I can’t validate this for you at this time, but I really am at least 75% sure it’s the same trailer. I distinctly recall the trailer on that LD not being available anywhere else back in the pre-YouTube ‘90s.

Well, dang.

Haha, it's all good, man. More reason to keep that laserdisc and make sure it's still runnin'! Very jealous!

VC-1 doesn't suck. There's some great encodes out there. The Jurassic Park BD's being good examples.

From TV Tropes:

Sarah Harding chastises the others in her group about the importance of observing without interacting shortly after almost getting herself killed attempting to pet an infant Stegosaurus. She chastises Nick for his terrible idea to bring the infant Tyrannosaurus back to the trailer, then shuts up and helps him do it. After this inevitably ends in disaster, she proceeds to explain the dangers of the bull rex tracking the group with its powerful olfactory sense, but brings the jacket coated in the infant's blood with her as they flee. Sarah has a bad habit of telling off others for things she then proceeds to do anyway.

Are any of you able to defend this character trait?

Hahaha!

Sounds like a human to me... Most people tend to be as hypocritical as her, if not worse. We're no better, and certainly indefensible against being called out. Recognizing what we do and how it affects the choices we tell others to make/follow is about the only sure way of staying true to the self without resorting to contradictions.

Also, she's Julianne Moore so she gets a pass for being immensely entertaining in it. lol

EMERGENCY (not really lol).

So if some may recall, there was this blog post (link)made regarding the transfer used for the 3D/2013 version (which I even forwarded to Ken Brown, who reviewed the 3D Blu-Ray and made note of warmer color-corrected grading, etc). The comments since then have been misguided and misinformed. Aside from their opinion of not liking the warmer grading (to each its own), they're not understanding the fact that the 2011 Blu-Ray is not flawless, which one user even went as far as declaring as "perfectly OK". That's concerning to me because I want Jurassic Park's new 4K transfer to look definitive and these guys are making it sound like it's broken. To some extent. And we all know it can be but not without repairable adjustments.

I don't know if it's the way the information is presented the information or they don't get it at all. But anyone willing to comment in and help please do. I don't want Universal to see this and think the color grading in the 2011 Blu-Ray is OK because it's not. I think the reason there have been more recent comments is because people are googling "Jurassic Park 4K" in hopes for the 4K Blu-Ray announcement and that blog post is literally on the first page of results.

That and hopefully not an upscale of the transfer used for both the 2011 or 2013 version of the Blu-Ray’s!

Here a news from Bill Hunt:

http://thedigitalbits.com/columns/my...ts/020118-1300

I hope they release 4K remastered 1080p Blu-rays to, like they did with Spartacus, Breakfast Club, Apollo 13, Gladiator, Schindler's List, Jaws and E.T.

Unlikely unless there are separate remastered Blu-rays (and several of the titles you mention aren't UHDs).

I don't understand what you mean. Universal could easily make separate remastered 4K full Blu-rays. So they ccould make money with the new Blu-rays and the UHDs. The UHD market is very small in comparison to the Blu-ray market.

Look what Sony is doing with Jumanji, recently. ;-)

He means that they won't do it, because Universal is (and always has been) that way. Which is true.

Very nice 25th Anniversary Collection Steelbook being released overseas. Has the first 4 movies included. Shows up at Amazon.it right now, but very likely to be a Zavvi exclusive in the UK, and probably other countries too.

You could not say that this is true, because you have only two examples, The Mummy and The Mummy Returns.
On the other hand, they made many 4K remastered Full HD Blu-rays like Gladiator, Apollo 13, Breakfast Club, Spartacus, Out of Africa, etc.
