Question Replace an LG 55UH8500 w/ 3D TV's dwindling in supply ?

Hey there. I have a LG 55" 4K UHD Smart LED TV, 240Hz TruMotion #55UH8500 for about a year now. I also have a Samsung Active 3D TV (don't remember part number) in my living room and while i am pretty happy with the LG as my primary choice of 3D, i am keenly aware that 3D sets (i really love the LG passive type) are disappearing very quickly.

My question is if i spent $800 on the LG should i look to upgrade it or stay where i am at now ? I would consider spending up to $1500 or so but not much more than that. Unfortunately, beyond my own set i don't know much about quality and value of what's left out there with LG 3D. Thanks !
You got a good reputation. But if I was you, I'd have located in the next county.

Blu Ray Wish List : Judgement Night, Things To Do In Denver When Your Dead, School Ties, Pump Up The Volume, The Abyss, A Thin Line Between Love & Hate, Dead Presidents, House Party, Dave Chappelle's Block Party, Chappelle Show, V (TV Series, 1980's) & any Hip Hop on Blu Ray.

To be honest i am not really sure. I like the LG i have i am just wondering if ppl here would think with the availability disappearing so fast this is the time to grab an additional set. Mainly i am interested in improving on picture quality if possible.

Better than UH8500 would be OLED and you are not going to get 3D OLED for $1500, if you can get one at all.

Default Cross It Off Your List

You can cross the 2016 lg 65 and 77 oleds off your list, c6p, e6p, and g6ps. They are gone. One g6p 65 on amazon at retail; probably gone by end of day. A few on ebay but not backed by an lg distributor. And that's it.

Be very careful with "open box" ones. They were returned probably due to misaligned filters and/or picture issues. These were very fragile tvs, as they were 5 and 6 feet across and made of nothing but a piece of glass.

It looks like everybody who wanted one got one though. I hope.

I would replace mine with OLED if i found one at the right price ... Mainly my issue is deciding if OLED over my model is worth the money and time.

you could still find a 55" but not on the $1.500 price range, i posted a link when LG had a promotion but that is long gone. If you google it you may find some going for $2.400 plus.

Isn't this a 1080p OLED? If you can get a great deal on it, it might be worth it. But I would tend to lean towards your current 4K set due to the increased brightness and resolution.

Thanks so much ! This is the kind of answer i was looking for. I definitely prefer my 3D picture to be be brighter and have better resolution and i don't want to throw away money if i don't need to. My LG is pretty damn good on 3D. Besides that, i live in a 1 BDR and already have a Samsung UN50F6400 that works pretty well so another 3D tv would be nothing more than hoarding LOL.
