it's both haha, component component cables are red, green and blue Pr,Y,Cr but not RGB ( the standard not the colors ) which happens to stand for red, green and blue but requires 2 more signals for the brightness and contrast.

I know I was just reinforcing that red, green and blue does not have to mean RGB, not aimed at you

MONOPRICE.COM is the ONLY place I buy ALL my wires and cable needs. One of my friends bought a monster cable at Circuit City for $49.99. He said the reason why is cost so much is because of 24K gold connectors thus providing better visual quality....NOT!! LOL. I bought my 2 HDMI from Monoprice for $13 including shipping!! I tested those cable out on his PS3 and compared it to his Monster Cable....ahahah....The sound and visual quality is the same!! He return his HDMI to circuit city and order through MONOPRICE and couldnt be happier!!!

Hey, why not get a 100 HDMI cables for $5 each and sell them for $20? People will think they are getting a great deal because BB had them for $40.

People who buy overpriced cables aren't smart enought to look online for deals. I doubt a lot of people buy $30-$300 dollar hdmi cables online. Your plan would only work if you had a store full of sales people to B.S buyers into thinking the price was justified because of it's performance compared to cheaper cables.

Stop saying that! Digital signal can get interference, tests have proven so and I deal with it on a daily basis with T-1 transport. Anyways yes monoprice cables work, at shorter distances, you can search the net for various test that have been done on HDMI. But basicly if your going directly to your TV monoprice is just as good as monster.

ok.. lots of info... but what is your point.
In the world of HDMI Video, as it is today
digital is digital...
yes it has problems with length or poor mfg practices
but..
In the world of HDMI Video, as it is today digital is digital...

and your info links agree "We don't all need $120 cables for our components"
the fight changes after you go past 10'.... maybe

"Just because digital information is made up of ones and zeros it can still degrade, especially over distances.
I get this now, because it's not about the digital info just getting there, like packet data. It's video, so it's about the digital info getting there at the right time to make sense. It's also audio, and over distances, there's a greater chance that audio and video will get out of sync. The following pictures show a test that they run that measures data throughput. In the interest of brevity, I'll just say that the more those lines crowd the center, the greater the risk of having crappy video."

Just watch what you are buying and what you are buying it for. You don't understand digital signals, of course digital is digital what else would it be analog? Bandwith can affect signal, and so can poor craftsmanship, My point is I sick of people saying its digital it works or it doesn't, that not true.

I am not telling anybody to buy $120 cables, just do the research.

I have always supported Monoprice. I'm lucky to have this store close to the house also.
