Default Inuyasha on Blu-ray

Is it just me or is there anyone who is so annoyed at the fact that they only released the final act on Blu-Ray but not the complete series?
I canít say I know much about anime and how all the rights work (Iím probably just a rookie to yíall when it comes to anime) but Inuyasha is one of my favorite anime shows growing up, so I kept waiting and waiting for a proper Bluray release but I donít think itís gonna be anytime soon?
Does anyone have any information regarding this?

Upscaling old anime is a bad idea, and unless JP decides to rescan the old footage I can't see it happening.

I'd love for them to atleast do a SDonBD release of all of Inuyasha (not including final act) since I'm having issues buying it since there are so many fake Inuyasha DVD sets out there.

Inuyasha has dropped off in popularity, along with all of Rumiko Takahashi’s work, really (how is there THREE seasons of Kyoukai no Rinne?! The manga sales are terribly poor in Japan).

The chances of an HD remaster of sorts will depend if there’s any demand, or renewed interest in Takahashi’s work.

InuYasha was number 1 for almost 10 years of my life (see my username) so I'd be down to buy a Blu-ray of it. I'd rather the original Naruto series get a Blu-ray before this though.

As mentioned above, InuYasha fall off hard in terms of popularity after TFA ended. It reminds me of Bleach where it was big and then nothing.

Speaking of my username..I really wish we could change usernames on here lol.

Rewatching the series on Hulu for the first time in years and it is making me want a Blu-ray release big time. I don't care if Viz pulls a crappy upscale out of their ass or not, I'd buy it day 1. I know as soon as I go to rebuy the DVD seasons for cheap is when Viz will announce an upscale.

20th anniversary of the anime is coming up in 2 years, maybe we'll see something then.

A company in Spain is releasing the show on BD, but its an upscale. I still say I wouldn't get any hopes up on a proper rescan since its 167 episodes long... (not counting final act)

I believe that most of InuYasha is digital SD. Nothing to rescan.

Really? Have they begun to release it or is it in the future? If I could find some screenshots I may import it. Our best shot is Viz putting the seasons out in a similar fashion to the Ranma 1/2 sets, or something like Bleach because it would probably be cheaper in terms of packaging.

EDIT: Found the Spain box set

This video shows the Spanish OP/ED 1, which I believe is being used to highlight how their BD looks.

(They don't have the license to use the song for OP1)

That actually looks really good to me. I want to import it, but that could get expensive quick considering there will be 7 box sets. I'm going to hold out hope that Viz somehow gets their hands on these upscales/does their own and puts out the sets in North America.

Wonder why no one has the rights to opening 1 anymore? Why can't the song rights be renewed?

Well, V6 is represented by Johnny & Associates, and they are known to be notoriously difficult to work with.

I’d be happy just to get inuyasha in SD on BD.

I recently bought the Digipack DVD releases from someone so I'm in no rush unless its a rescanned set.
