Interesting... that's not what you claimed a few years ago.

Does someone know how much shipping costs to Europe were for 3 discs, before this offer? (or just for 1)

I've got my own share of health issues, thank you very much. Why are you still hung up on this? I'm not the only person that "joked" about it yet you're only targeting me for condemnation Instead of getting bent out of shape over some stupid comment why don't you just focus on QC'ing your discs and competing in the market. Right now you're not very competitive, sad to say.

Update and minor delay for God's Bloody Acre / So Sad About Gloria...

"CRITICAL DRIVE-IN UPDATE: The 4th epic retro drive-in release featuring GOD'S BLOODY ACRE and SO SAD ABOUT GLORIA was scheduled to begin replication today and be available for sale at the Dark Force online store the following week. That came to a crashing halt when the head of Dark Force Entertainment viewed the test screener very late last night at the Dark Force headquarters in Hollywood, California. The retro drive-in series has been a huge success and really has come to define Dark Force. We have worked hard to improve the series with each release and the feeling was that this upcoming 4th release would be our biggest and greatest yet. It has also proved to be the most challenging as we have tried to show you in a series of posts on the restoration process. We are happy to say this release is shaping up to be the greatest one yet. Put a lot of work into the scene by scene color correction on So Sad About Gloria with amazing results. The menu and drive-in mode intermission is hands down the best one yet of the series. And then there is God's Bloody Acre , the main feature, that historically never had any great film elements in existence. Hence, we have had to spend a lot of time and money at the biggest and best lab in Los Angeles, Fotokem, to restore a very beat 35 mm print. Fortunately the new technology is amazing and the results have been incredible but the owner of Dark Force felt there was still some more that could be done to improve God's Bloody Acre which he feels is one of the most bizarre and atmosphereric of the violent grindhouse drive-in movies. So the Godly one is going back into surgery at Fotokem for one more round of restoration with the feeling that it will finally be the best it's ever been on home video. As a result the release date will be delayed by approximately 2 to 3 weeks. We will have further updates and continue to document the restoration process. We thank you for your understanding and patience and want you to have assurance that this will be the biggest and best retro drive-in release to date.

Really , historically? So this film never had an original camera negative nor intermediate element to make prints back then? Right. Another spin to appeal to the kiss asses.

Oh and the biggest and the best? How about just say a reputable. Or professional? Why make it sound so over the top

Yeah Volga I'm sure there was a negative to make prints back then in 1975 but it's almost 50 years later and all the producer had was a beat to crap 35mm print that was used for the initial DVD release which looked like garbage. Had we not made an awesome box first for this release we would have scrapped it once we saw the element. Instead we spent a lot of time and money to restore it to the best of our capabilities. And the lab in LA we are using is the biggest and the best period. If it were not for their miraculous technology to restore these great old films this particular one would be toast. But I guess you don't appreciate that.

Any chance you could add Cut and Run and Almost Human to your store?

Thanks a lot, right now it's 10$ for 3 discs which I found strange because I never remember it was 20$ before the offer

I guess it's because I want to get the Williamson bundle, maybe the shipping costs were set higher on this one...

Dear Dark Force Entertainment,

Please stop the markdown sale madness. This thread is becoming an addiction.

Thanks in advance, my wallet.

I have an innocent but straightforward question to ask Mr. DeFalco that hopefully won't be misconstrued as anything but a simple inquiry to satisfy a curiosity. Do you have a background in film restoration or did you start the label purely as a fan? The more labels there are out there, the better, and the better ones know their stuff.

I get the feeling he started it as a fan and a businessman. They way he has spoken about he restoration process in the past, indicates the fan perspective. I feel like Bill has been showing him the ropes a bit.

Yeah, that's my feeling as well. What prompted me to ask was the fact that he (DeFalco) didn't see a problem with the Carrier disc when there are obvious issues like DNR. I know he probably didn't have anything to do with the transfer but it seems he may be involved in the process going forward. I hope he knows it's not cool to slather DNR on movies
