LOVE the film, this is going to be a stunner. I'm bummed they dropped film (they were apparently supposed to shoot on film until a few weeks before FBAWTFT started) but FBAWTFT and this one especially look fantastic.

Really hope this will get a black spine, or it will clash so hard with the rest of the Potter-verse discs...

This will be one of the toughest "buy" decisions I've had in a long time.
On the one hand, I have (and like) the first Steelbook and fear they will sellout at some point (if I wait for the third). On the other hand, it wasn't really that good of a movie...

Yeah itís hard for me too. The first Steelbook is readily available and pretty cheap on eBay though so I donít think this one will sell out.

This series doesn't seem to be all that popular, I remember seeing used UHDs pop up at FYE just a couple of weeks after release. Came down to $15 or less with one of those 40% off coupons they send out semi-regularly.

Of course I bought the Steelbook day one lol...

Yeah I’ll probably be able to buy the steelbook like a year from now for around $15, which is what I might do.

I doubt Warner give up pimping the "Wizarding World," so even if this one ain't good it'll probably get a sequel or another spin-off. They should get someone in to write the scripts along with Rowling, since she doesn't seem to have a handle on screenwriting yet.

I think itís more the editing. Both Fantastic Beasts films have had loads of plot critical scenes cut from them. Crimes of Grindelwald has more deleted scenes than any other Wizarding World film.

I've only seen the first one, but it was very sloppily written IMO. Focused too much on world-building and felt a bit scattered in momentum and narrative thrust. That's all well and good for a novel, but less so for a movie.

Although I agree with your criticisms, I found some enjoyment in the first one (probably helped by the fact that I find Katherine Waterston very attractive). The sequel, however, is an absolute trash fire. Totally meandering and pointless.

I've never been a big Potter fan, but I absolutely loved this film. It's one of my favorite WW stories, maybe because it feels like the Attack of the Clones (which I thoroughly enjoy) of the WW saga.

See, I don't think that's a writing problem. More an editing problem. Because both Fantastic Beasts films have had lots of plot and character scenes cut and WB has a track record for demanding shorter films in favour of more showings (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, The Hobbit, Batman v Superman and Justice League for example)

I find the first one enjoyable despite its problems too. Worried about this one, but we shall see.

It's a writing problem. You don't have to cut anything if you think that everything written is absolutely necessary.

I'm a big fan of Rowling, but a script has to be concise and she seems to be approaching it like she's writing a novel. It's why CoG feels like a book adaptation that needed to cut things for the sake of the overall plot.

Based on iTunes’ poster, the release should look like something along the lines of this.
