Pretty inconsequential cuts then like I suspected, but proves that Paramount were desperate for that PG rating in the UK.

I wonder if the film getting a PG rating versus a 12a would have given it more favourable showtimes and a chance at sharing premium screen formats with Aquaman. For Paramount to make that decision, there must have been a considerable benefit to having the film be PG instead of 12a in the UK.

Got the sync issues but managed to make it not so annoying with the settings, do they have plans to fix it though and it will they do it?

I see you are in the UK. Do you have the US or UK version? It would be weird if two completely different cuts of the film have the same sync issue.

Has anyone ever isolated the issues to specific players and/or TVs and/or sound systems?

I am pretty sure I did not experience any issues with my Sony X800, 2016 LG OLED and Samsung soundbar.

I last heard from PHE on 5/14. Below is the quote from that communication:

"We are very close to narrowing down the specific issue. Once we get the explanation from our Tech department, we will be emailing you."

I'll follow up with them sometime this week but if the above is true they should have an answer for us by now.

Got pretty much the same response as you. At least it's not an automatically generated response:

hank you for your continued patience and understanding. Our Tech department had narrowed down the issue and we are just waiting on the next steps to be decided. You will receive an email once that has been completed.

Finally heard back from PHE and looks like a replacement UHD is now available to resolve the audio sync issue. Please see information below:



Thank you for your continued patience while we address the audio issue you have been experiencing.

In response to Bumblebee UHD’s picture and audio sync issues being observed on some playback platforms, we have determined we can tighten their alignment to remedy the audio sync lag issue. Audio sync lag was observed primarily with the English ATMOS track, but we are addressing all the audio tracks on the disc regardless.

The majority of consumers may never notice the sync issue, but unfortunately, the audio sync lag is exacerbated by viewing the film via the “ARC” (Audio Return Channel) port on TVs that output to a sound-bar or receiver. Compliance amongst TV manufacturer ARC implementation is not standardized, thus different set-ups will exhibit different and varying playback behavior, even if played back on the same set-up multiple times.

A replacement disc is already ready that will align the picture and audio sync better, but do note, it still may not remedy all the ARC playback set-ups in the market – we suggest consulting your manufacturer’s documentation on how to align picture and audio sync if still experiencing lag.

Sent in my disc for replacement after receiving the email which is great. Thanks to this thread and a member here I promptly emailed Paramount back in April. I realized when I left the post office yesterday I sent it media mail. It'll take a week to get from NY to LA. Not that I'm in a hurry to receive the new disc but...I'm in a hurry to get it.

Wouldn't hurt to send them an email first but I can't imagine it will matter either way. Just make sure to include your return address in the package and reason for sending in the disc i.e. Bumblebee UHD disc replacement.

May I ask what the best email for them is for this situation in particular?

Also, I’d be curious as to how they send it back! My only other experience with replacement discs has been one of the Christmas Classics collections; I just called them and they sent me a generic blu-ray case with the disk inside.

I used PHE_CustomerService@paramount.com to communicate with Paramount.

I'm guessing they will have some type of sleeve along with a padded mailer to ship the new disc to you. I sent mine to them in an old slim jewel case but who knows if that will come back or not. Bottom line is don't send the disc in anything that you won't miss if it doesn't come back.

I sent my disc in with no case or sleeve, just dropped it in a padded Amazon mailer. I usually save the Amazon mailers and just recycle them when I sell any type of media.
