FWIW replacement discs for Re:ZERO are finally being sent out. Also Funimation recently hired a new General Manager; maybe Colin Decker actually cares about doing a good job?

Still you're probably right. Only way I can see Funimation actually fixing this release would be if that Dutch release is Region A and has none of their issues. Future buyers import that version instead and maybe even get American retailers like Amazon and Rightstuf to carry that version instead (sending back all of Funimation's unsold stock)

Funimation shouldn't have to feel financially threatened to take action but maybe that's the only way they properly respond to their mistakes...

Well the review on the front page was a disappointment. No mention of the picture colour issue or the english track being inferior in sound quality to the japanese one. Not impressed.

Most people don't care or compare it to other region releases. They take it at face value.

The sound at least isnt other regions. The english track is poorer quality compared to the japanese track. All it takes is switching tracks.

4/5 for video is incredibly generous. I think I've made my opinion clear about the banding in previous posts.. oh well, doesn't seem to be a big issue for some I guess.

It came out yesterday in Japan (now it's the 6th there, 5th now here) on the 5th, so unless someone literally paid up the a$$ to get it shipped in one day it'll be a day or two before some stuff comes out.

That said, I am going to Japan on a trip starting on the 17th and will be picking up a copy, so if there isn't any info out before then, I'll share it when I return.

Not sure if it makes any difference but Funimation recently acquired MangaUK

So if they wanted to do the right thing they now have access to MangaUK's video master w/o green tint and wouldn't have to wait months for Toei to give them theirs.

MangaUK's release for Broly doesn't have the iffy mixing for the English dub audio right? So Funimation could improve that too.

But if the Dutch release ends up having these issues fixed I'll probably buy that version. Wouldn't surprise me if Funimation's only way of re-releasing the improved version is via 3-film set (Battle of Gods/Resurrection 'F'/Broly) in 2020

The dub still sounds distorted on the Manga UK BD. I think all the issues are baked into the mix and it won't be fixed unless FUNi goes back to the mixing stage.

• 1 English subtitle stream. Same as theatrical subs, so 'Frieza', 'Bulla', 'Beerus' and that translation error).
• 2 Dutch subtitle streams. One directly translated from Japanese without the aforementioned error and the other is based on the dub. Also 'Frieza', 'Bulla' and 'Beerus'

Periscoop Film has managed to make their BD look worse than the Funimation BD. Not only is the green tint still there, but the colors are washed out due to the lowered gamma levels, the banding is exacerbated and the picture is noisier. Their 'Your Name' BD suffered from similar problems.

Don't bother with this BD! Buy the Manga UK BD instead if you can.

Well, I’ll be getting the UK and JP BDs, determine which has the best encode, sync up the other audio mix and subtitles, then make a custom BD out of it.

For some reason I didn't recieve mine today, but that looks awful. I'm not a 'quality junkie' at all and I can live with some imperfections, but how did this get through QC? Dutch companies are just really incompetent. I have only a few Dutch Blu-rays, but almost all of them are flawed.

And I was looking forward to finally watch the movie...
