Modern comics suck.
God. can they not suck any worse. That Excalibur comic looks awful. The Excalibur comic with Charles and Magneto was better than this is looking. and that one sucked. The day Disney bought Marvel comics may well be the day the comics died. And this coming from a lifelong fan of comics.

Kevin Fegie said he didn't have time to talk about Mutants so they will probably be announced at D23 for Phase 4

I bought the first issue but I haven't read it yet. Lately I've been thinking of letting issues pile up for a little while before reading, then I can binge read them.

Gonna wait for the collected edition, as usual. My buddy said the first issue is very good.

I'm starting to suspect that Marvel Studios is making a film establishing the mutant race in general first, as a way to make sense out of all of it in the MCU, before we get a proper X-Men film.

AVENGERS: ENDGAME Writers Believe The X-MEN Should Be Left To "Rest" For A While

https://www.comicbookmovie.com/x-men...-while-a169766

Agreed.

As a big X-Men fan and an appreciator of the Fox films, I think the franchise needs to have its own entry, in the right way, into the MCU. It cannot be rushed.

There's too many other projects that Feige needs to finish up in order to make proper room for the mutants.

I don't expect them to clear the slate completely of all other things just to focus on the X-Men, but I don't want the X-Men to overshadow or be overshadowed by too many other properties in the MCU. I want a rest period between what Fox gave us and what Marvel gives us. Make fans hungry for the X-Men again.

In the meantime, let's get the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom established first.

To me, there is a really big difference between giving something a rest and not rushing things. It's going to take years anyway, might as well start working on it now. But take your time with it. Don't just let brand sit there and collect dust.

True. And I'm sure Feige already has a few ideas (probably always has) and maybe even has some people already working on it to some degree, but it is just not the main priority at the moment. Marvel has a lot on their plate right now, but once they're ready, they'll take on the X-Men full force and give it to us in grand fashion.

As a Marvel fan, I'm excited for the X-Men in the MCU.

As an X-Men fan, I'm a bit less excited, because I think the concept of mutants works better within its own world.

If there's a lengthy break between the two studio film universes, it'll be easier to accept the differences, without it seeming like such an abrupt change in presentation.

Oh, Kevin Feige diffidently knows exactly what to do with X-Men.. Every time they ask him a question about the X-Men in interviews, he goes like, I want this and I want that. Even Fox said when Kevin Feige was working for them, he was already planning a X-Men cinematic universe. Kevin Feige even admitted he vaguely fantasies X-Men in the MCU.

But yeah, I am a little nervous about X-Men joining the MCU. Because X-Men were always in their own circle of the Marvel universe. To treat it like episode x (no pun intended) of the MCU would be downgrading the brand. But whatever. We had enough good stand-alone X-Men films, so time for something different I guess.

I'd be fine with the X-Men taking a long break. Fantastic Four are my main interest and we already have confirmation that a FF movie is in the works, so I'm happy.

Since we've talked about it in this thread already, I just want to comment some more on the current X-Men comics. I've been reading House of X and Powers of X, and I have to say that I find it very interesting. I'm enjoying it so far, and I like the artwork quite a bit. I'm not sure where it's going, other than knowing that Marvel is going to follow up with a relaunch of all the mutant titles. But despite how much I like Hickman's current House/Powers of X run, I don't think anything coming afterwards looks appealing at all to me. It's a shame, because I would have liked to have continued on with at least one title.

Anyone else following these books? Any thoughts?

I'm waiting for a paperback edition of House of X before I read.
