So does the UHD release include these extras from the diamond-luxe edition?

- Cute, crafty, malicious, intelligent, dangerous: Making of Gremlins (29:15 mins)
- From Gizmo to the Gremlins: How the creatures were created (17:48 mins)

I have the first blu-ray release and don't have these extras.

EDIT: Ugh, it doesn't, as I read on the previous page. Hard how would it have been for them to include the diamond-luxe edition of the blu-ray for the xtras. This is the stuff that really frustrates me. So this will be the 2nd time I've bought this in recent years and still don't have those extras.

Great - except I don't use itunes. So digital extras don't help me. Yes, I'm bitter about this.

I was going to get this just for the Blu-ray. But hearing the Blu is just the same as the original release, I'll stick with the Diamond Luxe Edition.

Wonder if Scream Factory can rectify this for us standard Blu-ray collectors?

Someone asked if the extras were available digitally, and I replied to the question. I wasn’t endorsing this practise. They should be on the disc.

The site review is up and it’s basically a tirade about how the Diamond Luxe extras are missing from the UHD package. The reviewer even listed each missing feature under the Special Features & Extras section.

Other than that, the video got a 3.5, which is interesting. The reviewer makes note of some bad HDR/color grade choices... I wonder how real these complaints will turn out to be?

Not to be 'Mr. Hot-take' or anything, but for the most part the reviewers here are a joke. I really only come here for the forums at this point. I almost read the reviews like I would read something in The Onion. I can give countless examples of what I mean, but my favorite is the five star review for the steelbook of Platoon. Wowzerz...

The review is correct about the transfer being a little dark in some places. I only sampled a bit of it the other day, but I recall that there were several shots like that around the part where they blow up the movie theater and when they chase Stripe into the department store.

It's still a huge improvement over the Blu-ray, but it's not without its issues.

Review is a mixed bag but seems fair. The 4k disc definitely isn't perfect but the video quality is a good improvement over the old blu-ray and the best the film has looked on home video, even if it still has some faults of it's own.

It's just a shame this classic hasn't been given even better treatment for it's 4k release. A new blu-ray master, with all the previous luxe extra's (maybe some new extras too) should have been included on disc but at least the 4k disc offers enough video quality improvements to make it still worth a buy (just)

I hope this sells well. Then we might get The New Batch in 4K!

Someone who has proper tone mapping please give their assessment on this "added darkness" . No idea if the 4K was reviewed on a biscuit tin or proper equipment. Also the darkness has always existed, it probably has not "increased". This is just a result of increased black levels, and refinement. If a reviewer doesn't understand this very basic concept of HDR grading, then they should not be reviewing. The colourist! The colourist!

Forgive my “un- knowingness “ but does that mean if I download the code to my Vudu account the bonuses won’t appear on Vudu? Only if I use the code to iTunes they will only appear? I also don’t use iTunes

Correct. The HDR contrast boost and increased black levels always results in a "darker" image than viewers who have been watching the film for years on TV, DVD, and Blu-ray are used to.

It’s a shame that this doesn’t have all the extras from the Diamond Luxe edition. Looks like I’ll be making a “custom combo pack” using a 3-disc 4K case!

I liked those discs in the Diamond Luxe set a lot more, anyway. They had disc art!

I ordered the 30th Anniversary UK BD and got the old extras. Looking forward to watching the making-of.

The repetition of colourist i felt made film seem like a paint by numbers affair. Geoff is going to have a field day with this when he shows up.

Personally, I don't let other people dictate to me on what to buy and what not to buy because, I have a mind of my own, and a home theater that's different than everybody's else's. Movie reviews are nothing but personal opinions of the reviewer, which doesn't mean that I'm not going to like it. Besides, I take movie reviews with a grain of salt, and most of the time I don't bother to read them at all! If I want a movie (or anything else), I'm going to buy it, regardless what everybody else had to say about it. I'm not a puppet! I'll make my own judgement on what the movie look and sound like, based on watching the movie(s) in my own home theater.

It's a Movies Anywhere code. If you link your accounts, the code will give you the film on both VUDU and iTunes.
