If it has more scenes and extends the run time of the movie, then it is the definition of an extended cut.

Agree to disagree, but in my opinion, it isn’t integrated within the body of the film, it’s additional content. If they were reintegrated in the context they were intended, then I would define it as an extended cut.

Ok. Anything that extends the runtime and is played before the end credits roll is considered an extended cut. In my opinion and probably by definition.

I agree with you, that abomination of a re-release of Endgame was NOT and extended cut. The original "cut" is unchanged.

Movies that have extended cuts are like Batman V. Superman, the Town, Watchmen, Apocalypse Now.... stuff like that.

The original "cut" had to be changed in order to make it.

But by adding stuff at the end of the movie (before the end credits roll) doesn't that change the movie itself? It's changing the ending that's for sure. Sort of like a prologue. And the ending is a big part of the movie.

I did not see Endgame in either version, so I cannot comment on that, but I am under the impression these scenes will indeed be after the credit roll. I can’t imagine them destroying the vibe of the ending by tacking scenes in. The first batch of credits are even played out over the final shot after the title card.

If that is the case it changes everything. I guess we'll have to wait 'til tomorrow to find out.

From the projectionist sheet.

So 2 commercials and 2 “BTS” interviews?

That's what they're going with for the cover art? I really don't care for it.

This movie would've made a dollar fifty in China anyway. No superheroes, no 3D, they wouldn't have given a ****. This is just another of Hollywood's latest wheezes, it worked for Endgame - which had no shortage of Chinese income, as I recall? - so Sony are giving it a go here.

Is there speculation on the street date? I hope it lands in December.

Yeah...everything is pointing to that early December release date.

They weren’t integrated the two commercials were before the film starts. And after the end credits it was a Lancer scene where the brothers first come into town and meet their little sister. The second scene was an alternate take of the Bounty Law scene with Micheal Madsen.

In an interview I read as Quentin was writing the film Butters sitcom American Housewife was playing in the background and he was so impressed he had to put her in the film.

I was wondering what her casting backstory was...like did QT see her and say...”ok....we’re done here..you’ve got the job kiddo.” I mean nobody can top that performance.

And I guess I wasn’t too far off. She is a scene stealer. Reminds me of Hailee Steinfeld when she was in True Grit.

Since Sony is taking their sweet time and releasing this in December I may be hesitant to pick this up immediately. No reason for this not to be released before black Friday.
