Dollar Tree Blu-rays

No in-store pictures this time around. I was dragging my wife around with me, so I didn't want to spend the extra time for them.

4 of 7 store had their stock out. I'm glad I took a look as the numbers of blu-rays were thin this time around. I'm sure I was getting first look at many of these boxes, and there was maybe 1-3 blu-rays in a box if any. About half the boxes only had DVDs.

How these were displayed:

• On an end-cap (properly)
• All boxes opened and dumped into the electronic section (same store that always makes a mess)
• Some boxes emptied and jammed under shelf. Others boxes opened and stacked in isle.
• Three opened properly, stack on top of the other 15 un-opened boxes.

I think I'll had to a few more stores tomorrow, as I'll have the day off.

I know there's usually some variety from store to store, but it is interesting that out of all the pictures posted by PaulMe & edison, I saw exactly 1 disc in the 15 boxes I looked through yesterday (& it was the crappy halfhour 'Twas the Night HBO special in the yellow DVD case).

I went to my 2nd closest store tonight & they had nothing new, but still a fair amount in the regular aisle from last time.

The first store had the movies on a back end cap closer to the freezers than the automotive/electronics or book aisles. I almost missed them.

Man, looking at those boxes, and how many were shipped, we're all gonna be stuck in DTs for longer than usual.

I hope by store 4 or 5 I can see what's showing up over and over. Maybe I can cut off a store or 2.

I only have one dollar store close to me and they rarely get blu ray’s and the few they have are ones I don’t want. I am envious of all the great blu ray’s you guys are finding. Last week stopped by my dollar tree and the guy told me they would be getting more stock in over the weekend. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to get back there over the weekend so I am sure there is nothing left. There are 2 more stores I could go to but they are not close and they do not usually have blu ray’s.

All stores are getting this movie shipment... boxes contain mostly dvds and some blu rays. I had locations that didn’t get blu rays for a while and then they did, so stop writing off that some locations will not get any because they more than likely will.

Yep, especially since most retail stores that carry discs have reduced their inventory to stock other items, especially now for BF (target, Best Buy, etc., etc.,)...and they didn’t put them on clearance, they just disappeared, which means they them sold in bulk to get rid of them...that’s why they show up at stores like dollar tree and big lots, etc.

Each box contains, for argument sake, 40 DVDs...

Each store gets 15 boxes...

15x40 = 600x14,835 = 8,901,000

Almost 9 million DVDs with an unknown percentage of DVDs to BluRays just in this one wave...

So, having the movie sale on Black Friday is bad enough, but also having to wonder whether 1. your local stores are going to be open on Thanksgiving and 2. whether the stores open on Thanksgiving are going to have their movies out-----making this more than a bit aggravating. At the very least I'm going to need to find out if my main store (a busy one, so odds are good they are) is open on Turkey Day, and go from there.
