The cases that Criterion, Indicator (for the Limited Editions) and now the BFI are using. They are far nicer than the regular Blu cases IMO.

It's a clear plastic case, similar to the familiar Amaray but instead of wasting space at the top with the plastic banner (Blu-ray or HD-DVD) the sleeve goes right to the top, so the artwork is full size (just like a DVD case... there's progress ).

Criterion started using them first and some other boutiques have followed suit.

Cure is an amazing film that you will definitely want to see more than once, although I prefer to think of it more as an almost Lynchian thriller with some horror elements.

Are there scanavo-like blu-ray cases the exact size of a regular blu-ray cover? (So a blu-ray case minus the transparent/blue part). I would replace my other boutique label cases if those were available .

They are the same height and width but keep in mind the sizes of the inserts and booklets differ.

I just compared a Criterion cover and a regular blu-ray cover; the Criterion covers are a bit taller. Are there scanavo-cases the exact height of regular blu-ray covers? Not sure if I am wording it correctly

Yes, they're identical in size. It's just the disposition of space that differs, with no upper embossed banner externally, and no length-limiting shelving inside, so that the covers and booklets can take up the full height of the case. The non-Scanavo cases are generally referred to as Amarays.

Are there any car chase scenes in The Don Is Dead? I'm wondering if one could compare it to say, The New Centurions, The French Connection, The Driver, in the 70s police movies.
I have a real dislike of Anthony Quinn so I need something substantial to divert my attention.
In the meantime I found 8 titles between the Crime and Silent offers that I had not bought before (I think).

There will be an official announcement at some point soon but basically Amaray is no longer making the cases we have always used, so we will be shifting to the Scanavo cases from January.

As @Koberulz noted, I mean the covers. Not the cases. I know the scanavo and amaray cases are the same height, but I wonder if there are scanavo-like cases that are the height of amaray blu-ray covers (an amaray blu-ray cover is not the full height of the amray case, but it is slightly shorter to leave space for the "blu-ray" embossed banner).

I checked some Eureka releases, and the booklets are always a bit shorter than the covers, so the booklets would fit fine in such a case. I'd buy these cases

YES as it has more extras as well as the ORIGINAL German intertitles. It also uses the 2006 Luciano Berriatúa restoration with restoration credits (95:11) whereas the BFI one ONLY used the 1995 restoration (88:32)

Agreed 100%. The MOC dvd has a great, thick book and I was reluctant to replace so I just bought the bfi blu and slipped the cover behind the dvd one (the case is see-through) and put the disc and booklet in the case using one of those CEX clear disc envelopes. Best of both worlds and no extra shelf space used.

I appreciate an announcement is coming soon, but would it be possible to do a reversable cover? It's not like those Amaray's are hard to get hold of for those of us willing to do so. I for one would like consistency.

Yes, Scanavo makes cases (plastic) that are designed to display shorter/standard cover art (paper). I've been trying to find a source to buy them.

The total height of any blu-ray case will be the same; the question is whether it accommodates full height cover art or standard height cover art and uses the rest to display the BLU-RAY logo.

I love reversible art sleeves, especially if the label goes for new ones.
Eureka might not be as bad as Arrow, but some of the newly-commissioned ones are not good or purchase-inducing, so having the option to flip it is a big plus for me.

Two questions regarding Eureka sales:
The ongoing horror sale doesn't have a ton of titles I want, so I decided to pass on it. Do Eureka only have these smaller, more compartmentalized sales(Billy Wilder, horror, silents) or are there also more encompassing ones with all or most titles up for grabs? Also, how likely are we to get another one before the end of the year?
Secondly, do the multiple title boxsets(Keaton, etc.) ever get discounted? I'm wondering whether I should wait or get what I want now.
