Just a heads up, for those who are curious, the Second Sight release is fantastic. The ďtrailerĒ included is actually just a TV spot it seems, so totally different from Shoutís; the deleted scenes are in even shoddier SD video than Shoutís, but all that aside, Second Sight has released a lovely complimentary edition of The Strangers.

The interview with Liv Tyler was a surprise as she did not participate in Shoutís release (maybe they interviewed her while she was shooting season 3 of Harlots last year?). She doesnít add much new info though, just a nice sit down and she admits this is one of her favorite roles and sheís a big fan of horror in general.

It is the interview with the editor that is absolutely worth the price alone. From his work with the Saw series to the disastrous first screening of The Strangers, to the sound mix change of the iconic kitchen scene, to the 20 minutes of deleted material (in part due to that screening), to how the ending sequence was revisited thanks to the MPAA as well as the last minute producer demands to never show the faces of the Strangers to...

Everyone, itís one of the most insightful interviews on how a low budget horror movie is made (and edited) Iíve ever seen, and if you check my collection, youíll see Iíve seen plenty!

What a delight! As for AQ/PQ, itís essentially a direct port of Shoutís.

Anyway, just my quick two cents. A worthy purchase for anyone who loves this film, as both editions actually donít cross over in bonus material very much.

Worth the investment!

i'm more interested in color timing, so still there's no conclusion?
