It's a shame that Rod Serling's vision for Night Gallery was diluted by the network's interference, which tried to turn the show into, as Serling put it, "Mannix with shrouds." He also resented producer Jack Laird inserting comedy bits which damaged the brand Serling was trying to build with the show.

I wish someone would release the 70s supernatural show "The Sixth Sense" starring Gary Collins as a paranormal researcher. I remember it scared the crap out of me as a kid.

The Sixth Sense 1972 titles - YouTube
Did the Night Gallery DVD sets include any episodes from that series? I know some or all of it was absorbed by NG when it went to syndication.

Coming August 17th!

The Fortune Cookie (1966)
• NEW Audio Commentary by Film Historian Joseph McBride, author of Billy Wilder: Dancing on the Edge
Call for Extras: Jack Lemmon Asks the Good People of Cleveland to Show Up at Municipal Stadium
Tribute to I.A.L. Diamond: Scene Work with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau
TRAILERS FROM HELL with Chris Wilkinson
• Theatrical Trailer

Powered by an Oscar-winning performance by Walter Matthau (The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, Charley Varrick) as the quintessential all-American chiseler, The Fortune Cookie is a hysterically funny comedy that showcases legendary filmmaker Billy Wilder (Some Like It Hot, The Lost Weekend) at his uproarious best. Harry Hinkle (Jack Lemmon, Irma La Douce, Avanti!) is one lucky guy! When he’s accidentally clobbered by a 220-pound halfback, all Harry suffers is a slight concussion. All, that is, until Whiplash Willie (Matthau)—a legal scoundrel of the first order—arrives on the scene! For if Harry follows shyster Willie’s advice and feigns a crippling injury, the two charlatans can split a cool million in phony insurance claims. But can Willie’s world-class finagling dispel those ominous words that lie within the fortune cookie on Harry’s hospital plate: You can’t fool all of the people all of the time? The first film to feature the dynamic duo of Matthau and Lemmon (The Odd Couple, The Front Page, Grumpy Old Men) was co-written by Wilder and his brilliant collaborator I.A.L. Diamond (One, Two, Three) and boasts beautiful black-and-white cinematography by Joseph LaShelle (Laura).

I barely missed out on The Fortune Cookie when Twilight Time folded. Nice to see more Billy Wilder entering my collection.

Coming August 17th!

Fitzwilly (1967)
• NEW Audio Commentary by Filmmaker/Historian Michael Schlesinger and Film Archivist Stan Taffel
• Theatrical Trailer

This comic confection from director Delbert Mann (Marty, Separate Tables) stars the incomparable Dick Van Dyke (Mary Poppins, The Art of Love) as butler-turned-thief Claude R. Fitzwilliam, known to his friends as Fitzwilly. The once-sizable fortune of elderly philanthropist Miss Vicki (Edith Evans, The Chalk Garden, The Whisperers) has dried up, and in order to keep the daily charity checks from bouncing, her loyal servant Fitzwilly enlists the aid of the household staff to commit a series of robberies. It’s all working out quite nicely until the nosy Juliet (Barbara Feldon, TV’s Get Smart) comes to work as Miss Vicki’s personal secretary and senses something fishy about Fitzwilly. Alternately madcap and touching, this comedy classic features a score by the great John Williams (Star Wars) and co-stars John McGiver (Midnight Cowboy), John Fiedler (The Odd Couple), Anne Seymour (Mirage), Norman Fell (Charley Varrick) and Cecil Kellaway (Harvey).

Yes, one of the 1968 films was a KL/Scorpion co-release, now it may be a KL/Code Red one.

So the other 1968 title has to be something previously released on Blu-ray, and very probably not by Twilight Time. Mmmm. Unless something from Olive has gone OOP, I can't see any options are than Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? Though I'm sure the idea was shot down fairly recently.

KL insider - I know it’s not in any announced deal from you but just curious if it’s something you guys have pursued getting New York, New York from MGM at all? A new restoration premiered last year and it seems to be taking its time to make it to Blu-ray.

None of the other two 1968 titles have been released on Blu-ray in the U.S.

The Night Gallery DVD sets didn't include any of the revamped "The Sixth Sense" syndication episodes. I would love to see at least just the intros included as an extra, if Night Gallery is indeed coming to Blu.

To clarify, when Night Gallery was going to syndication, they needed more episodes to make the syndication package more attractive. So they took the 25 hour-long episodes of "The Sixth Sense", cut them down to fit a 1/2 hour slot, and filmed new intros with Rod Serling with new paintings, and passed them off as Night Gallery episodes.

Ah! So to be clear, it's:

1961 - Something previously released in the MGM MOD line

1968 - 2 new-to-disc titles

Is that correct?

1977 Kino International was a theatrical company releasing new and repertory films. In the 80s Kino International started their home video line, Kino on Video and started releasing VHS titles and eventually some laserdiscs. In 2009, Kino International merged with Lorber Films (Fox Lorber, Koch Lorber, etc.) and became the Kino Lorber we all now know and love, well at least most of us. The Kino Classics line replaced the Kino On Video line, the new acquisitions were released under the Kino Lorber brand. Other KL brands are Alive Mind, Redemption, Jezebel... in 2014, the Kino Lorber Studio Classics brand was created, specializing in studio theatrical and television films.

We asked for the 1932 version of Back Street, planned to release all three as a set, but the 1932 version was not available, most likely licensed to someone else.

- The sole remaining 40s title had a prior DVD release
- The sole remaining 60s title was previously released on Blu-ray
- The 3 remaining 70s titles are new-to-disc in the US (and look to be 3 Code Red picks)
- The sole 80s title had a prior Blu-ray release
- The 3 remaining 90s titles were previously released on Blu-ray
- 2 more UHDs planned
- One Scorpion/KL co-release and 3 more Code Red/KL co-releases
I think I may've made a mistake, but there are no more 1932 films in the current deal. Everything else seems to match.
