There are framing issues with the Criterion?

Did anyone else's 2007 Enter the Dragon blu-ray stop working? I probably watched it only once around that time period. Popped it in recently and the disc doesn't work anywhere. May have to get this Greatest Hits collection instead... or just hold out for a 4K UHD release.

This started to happen years ago, around the time the upgraded edition came out. I remember there were rumors that player firmware updates were actually rendering the disc unplayable; no idea if there was any truth to that but there was some speculation at the time.

I was really looking forward to all the special features on the Criterion release but the quality of the Mike Leeder commentaries is atrocious. So hard to understand and with lots of ear piercing interference noises.

Criterion vs Shout! (The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, The Way of the Dragon)

Which grading is more accurate to the original prints?
Which one has better AQ?

2. Fist of Fury / The Chinese Connection - Shout
3. The Way of the Dragon / Return of the Dragon - Shout for framing, but select shots look better on the Criterion.
6. Game of Death - Shout
Any opinions on this?

I don’t like the magazine; it’s too weak. They shoulda did a booklet like Lone Wolf and Cub.

A trivia. The Golden Harvest logo preceding the Criterion presentation is not the original theatrical logo. You can see it in the original theatrical trailers though.

The "new" logo was started in 1978 and if I remember correctly is first used on the re-release of The Way of the Dragon.

I love how Criterion couldn’t be bothered to include a nice, sturdy bound booklet like they’ve done with so many other releases. Instead they literally just folded a magazine in half and tossed it in the box, lol.

They haven’t included a real booklet in a while I think. Most of their recent stuff has been basically folded leaflets.

That's not true at all, as 4 out of the 6 June releases contain booklets.

I was listening to the Joe Rogan QT interview earlier today and, among the obvious Bruce Lee talking points, they touched upon the whole Kung Fu controversy, and Tarantino brought up some compelling points, shattering that long-held assertion that Lee's idea was stolen for the eventual Carradine "whitewashing" casting choice. Did Linda Lee make it up, or was she misled on the situation by Bruce?

The older I get, the less I trust, cause I've been around people for too long (including myself).

Linda Lee definetly was sold a bunch of hooey about Bruce's infamous fight with Wong Jak-man. For one thing, Wong also taught Westerners...the fight was due to Bruce talking trash at the established kung fu schools.
