I got "Mostly Cinemascope, Mostly Technicolor" and "Spook-O-Rama" in the mail today but I didn't get "Looney Tunes: Missing in Action". Are some of them being shipped out separately for a few people?

I just got Spook-A-Rama, but still no MIA or Cine/Tech. As Wataloon asked, are my copies of the other two also in a separate shipment?

Yes. We came close to getting nearly everything out, but have found out some of them were separated, but most went together. Some older orders of MIA and Vintage Education 2 are still left to dub--as far as I know all Tech/Scopes and all Halloween are out (except anything received in the last 2 days). Dave is double checking the orders (we print them as they come in and have stacks on each title for pre-orders) to make sure all of those specific titles are out the door this week. I have a handful of emails related to them.

While still waiting on MIA, Mostly Tech/Scope, and Spook a Rama, I just ordered Cartoons Most Wanted, Lost and Found, and 1967 Feature! Can't wait!

That syphilis film on the Educational set is brutal! I know some people who could use the Improving Your Personality film. Great stuff!

I mean most of those are super duper outdated or factually wrong, and morally wrong… but it’s fun to laugh at the past or blow chunks at it.

Well I do know some people for whom the Improving Your Personality film would still be relevant.

The hardest thing is that each generation looks back on the decisions that they thought would be helpful in educating students, only to realize they've taught a bunch of things that are obviously biased and based on what they thought was morally correct. The 'Making the most of your face' is as brutal to me as any. I think this particular period (late 40s into the 60s) is fascinating in that they're really trying to be 'modern' in teaching. The 'Innocent Party' film is really interesting in this way- and I have to wonder if it was common to have a closer relationship with the family doctor as is portrayed here..

I mean this comes from the same time period where housewives had “close relationships” with the milkman or mailman… so I would definitely say yes. Back in those days treating the local doctor like he was part of the family made sense because back in those days things like malaria or pneumonia were super serious and fatal en masse. You grease his palm JUUUUUUST right you might live to see the next year! Back then doctors didn’t really have moral quandary and properly treated people who had actual money, remember this was still an economic crisis and money was king above things like the hypocratic oath or morality.

I dunno man… I wasn’t alive back then… unless I got a WAYBAC there’s no way to honestly tell for sure because people tend to be biased about the times they grew up in.

Hey Steve, do you have any idea when the Cartoons Most Wanted survey will begin?

I'm still waiting on my Scope/MIA/Spook a Rama discs but I'll wait a few more days before filing a ticket since I ordered Scope and Spook months back with Cubby Bear that did come in on time, so it might just be down the line I suppose

I'll be over with Dave in the morning and I'll be sure to mention yours. I have a few more that people have emailed me about We may list a nightmare tomorrow with a 1:85 and uncrossed version on the same disc.. it's a debate at the moment still!

Thanks Steve! I will note MIA was a different order (along with Lulu I believe), under a different paypal. That order might not have gone through but I'll check again. Excited to see what goodies Spook-a-rama includes!

The stop motion feature is up! It's called Unmatted (matted) Nightmare

It's limited to 75 copies and will be shipped at the same time as Lulu and Other 1940 (that one just got completed!)

I really like how it looks. The set will include both the 1:85 version and uncropped version. Once it's gone it's gone!

Steve,
I’m curious when you may open orders again for “ALL CENSORED 1” Blu-ray? I have just discovered my copy is missing from my media room, I’ve looked it for the last couple of hours and I’m sweating bullets. I have the second volume ordered but I really want the complete set. Any chance I can place another order this year?

Got my copies of "Spook-O-Rama", "Looney Tunes: Missing in Action", and "Mostly Cinemascope, Mostly Technicolor" on Saturday. Faster-than-usual two-day arrival via First Class, even in spite of the recently-announced longer transit times... not bad. "Spook-O-Rama" was shipped in a separate package, but both arrived banded together.

Some cool stuff here, as ever. Nice to have an upgrade on Scrappy's Ghost Story, the best of the Scrappys that Ben Harrison and Manny Gould directed—though you, Steve, of all folks are the first one I've seen offer a less-than-laudatory opinion of it. :-)

I do have to call attention to one thing, though: When you're having films with mono soundtracks scanned, please make sure they actually scan the soundtracks as *mono* tracks, with the entire track area being read as one track. With some of these newer scans, the tracks were apparently transferred as if they were stereo, and consequently distorted/imbalanced—especially problematic with things like the early Van Beuren cartoons that have unilateral/asymmetric soundtracks, though even "symmetric" soundtracks aren't immune if they're not perfectly aligned in the track area. Perhaps these could be fixed by mixing/blending the channels together digitally, but it would be better to just have it transferred properly to begin with, as has typically been the case with your scans.

So Steve, when are you going to regale us with that bizarre short lent by Jeff Missinne that you mentioned a few weeks back? At least this obscure-cartoon scholar whose brain is already broken is interested in learning just what you've come up with now...

This is on Missing Links, along with other bizarre things. I hope to ship that with this batch of stuff (Nightmare, Other 1940, Lulu, Grab Bag, Party Disc 2 if we can manage!)

While we're talking about special discs we missed out on, I'd love to see "Fleischer Follies" made available for preorder again. That one was offered just before I joined the forum -- would be great to get another chance at it.
