RTings isn't as credible to me as they once were.

Why? I watched them review the Xbox Wireless Headset.

They didnít even use ďanyĒ Xbox for the tests.

Whether that Rtings.com review is totally trustworthy or not, it's enough for me to be really disappointed in this OLED variant, enough to avoid it. We'll wait and see what Sony's iteration does, but those raised blacks with any ambient light sound like a total deal breaker for anyone (thus most) of the potential customer base who doesn't have a dedicated home cinema. That talk of colour fringing as well, I'm going to keep an eye on that as it sounds like the sort of thing that's going to cause stuff that looks similar to chromatic aberration on very fine details of 4K presentations.

All in all, it sounds like way too many trade-offs for increased colour volume! People shouldn't be blinded by how many nits they can hit, since ABL is going to be having a significant impact on that with real content like with any other OLED.

Vince forced a Pixel Refresher on the A90K to receive a sustainable APL for measurements. I suspect Sonyís (same Panel) processor will yield better colour accuracy outta box. Probably have a more aggressive ASBL algorithm.

The Samsung is brighter. Though what caught my interest over all else was the fact Samsung has ASBL issues. Surprised me cuz they donít do Dolby Vision. I think firmware updates have fixed the numerous amount of input bugs but am not 100% on that.

Not sure when Mediatechs new SOC will be implemented on Sony TVs. Iíd wait for confirmation of all 4 HDMIís getting 2.1 bandwidth support before jumping on another Sony.

Full Metal LED Jacket / Pass the remote

No TV reviewer is perfect, no TV is perfect, no video product is perfect, nobody is suprÍme.
It's a longer TV video interview, but it shines some light from different vantage points.

Right now the Samsung S95B is @ the newest epitome of QD-OLED technology.
It's a good time to be alive.

Maybe if you can disable TPC in Samsungís Service Menu. lol

My point above was RTings could have tested how the Xbox headset works on the Xbox. Seems like a no brainer.

Undefeatable overscan? Maybe that's another thing they can fix in a firmware update. But it's certainly more than enough to put me off for the life of the TV. Samsung seem determined to beat LG - except they've gone the wrong way - they've managed to make an OLED with far more annoyances than an LG OLED. At the asking price, I find that sloppiness unforgivable.

Yes, it's up to them now IMO to make this QD-OLED tech actually be as impressive as it should be. I've got trust in them, since they have experience already with OLEDs, and great ones at that.

Not that I think it's quite game changing. Demos are going to be tooled to show them off at their best of course, but ASBL is still there. If someone designs an amazing, high performance heatsink design for these to allow them to sustain large areas of brightness without overheating, that could be the real game changer, not pixel layer structure.

Errors about errors.

Most TVs have overscan you can't turn off internally on SD content - however it's easy to defeat by sending the TV an upscaled signal so you only get it if using the built-in tuner and stuff.

I know, Samsung fixed it. But they still have to fix other models (as per the article).
