Yes, as part of SC's Vintage Classics line. The scan is excellent.

Hell is a City 1960 - StudioCanal, so possible from SC, Indicator or Network
Cop 1988 - MGM, so not possible from Indicator (French Region B available to import)
Prince of the City 1981 - Warner Bros, so only possible from HMV's Premium Collection (Warner Archive Region Free available to import)
Twisted Nerve 1968 - StudioCanal, so possible from SC, Indicator or Network
Villain 1971 - already available from StudioCanal
The Quiller Memorandum 1966 - already available from Network (dodgy master)
The Parallax View 1974 - Paramount, so possible (Imprint Region B available to import)

That last one is pretty high on my list of Paramount wants for UK labels, it must be frequently requested from labels who've licensed from them in recent years (Indicator, Eureka, BFI, Arrow, 88 Films). No idea why they're holding off letting a UK label get it but allowing Criterion (US) and Imprint (Australia) to license it.

Surprised we haven't seen Twisted Nerve from Indicator yet but perhaps SC don't have decent materials for it, or they want to release it themselves in multiple countries. Hell is a City seems like it could be one SC release themselves, much like things like Villain, The Frightened City or The Criminal, but it'd be a nice surprise if Indicator (or Network) managed to get it.

The Twilight Time release is fantastic. I've hung on to the Network release for its great bts features.

Wonder if Indicator will release ... Dark Places .. with Christopher Lee.

It's the only film from that Severin Eurocrypt Set Vol. 2 I want.

  2. No Man Of Her Own (1950),
  3. The Turning Point (1952) &

Paramount Noir #1?

Probably more likely from Kino as part of the ‘Dark Side…’ series.

Didn't realize these were Paramount. these are pretty strong Noirs, so probably will be single releases- which is fine. I just find the price for these Imprint sets waaaaaaay too high for me.

Same.

Given how many ‘Dark Side..’ volumes are planned I’m happy to wait to see if they come via Kino. Both Powerhouse and Kino are doing God’s work for fans of Noir so I’d love to see them both continuing to release noir far into the future

Same here. It is definitely the kind of title Indicator would go for.

Nope. Looks like the release date has been pushed back to June 27th, I imagine there are some last minute delays. Still think it'll ship in the next week or so.

Announcements this week hopefully? Getting excited as we get towards the end of the year. Still can't wait for The Big Gundown...and Universal Noir, Carnal Knowledge, and at least one Leisen title.

Paramount Noir would be cool, if they can secure enough titles from Paramount to assemble a box set (might be tricky right now, as it seems to be a struggle to even get one or two from them). From the Imprint sets so far, they could theoretically include Alias Nick Beal, Detective Story, City That Never Sleeps, Plunder of the Sun, Private Hell 36, The Strange Love of Martha Ivers, No Man of Her Own, The Turning Point and The Desperate Hours (so quite a few).

Then there are other possibilities, dependant on quality of masters of course, such as Appointment with Danger, The File on Thelma Jordon, The Lawless, Man-Trap, Rope of Sand, The Hangman, and The Trap. On top of that are loads of other titles that aren't technically Paramount - mostly from Republic, Allied Artists, RKO etc - but are now owned by Paramount: Beware My Lovely, Cry Vengeance, The Enforcer, Hell’s Half Acre, Hoodlum Empire, Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye, No Man’s Woman, Outrage, Plunder Road, Shack Out on 101, The Shanghai Story, Sleep My Love, The Sound of Fury, Stranger on the Prowl, Strangers in the Night, and Track the Man Down. I suppose there might be a small issue of calling a lot of these 'Paramount Noir' as some of them were actually released by other studios originally (e.g. Warner Bros) or produced independently, but I suppose the same probably goes for some of the Columbia and Universal titles being released?

Imagined Harry Palmer was right up Indicator Street. But I suppose we'll be served up more sub-par featuring Stephen Boyd American abroad. It's some kind of kitsch this American star, late career British flick. My personal favourite is real life couple Katherine Ross and Sam Elliott. They look so confused.
