Maybe not, but it's not inconceivable to me that older titles Funi/CR has no interest in releasing might still be available for sub-licensing. Not the major or recent titles, but the older stuff like Symphogear, where they flat out don't want to bother with them, but could still get some cash from letting Discotek deal with it.

i did like the first half of Heroine but then it kinda got a bit on the serious side and got a bit weird, but i was googling about the series before and discovered the japanese/overseas version is only 7 episodes long while the chinese version is 12, based on the first 3 episodes they cut a total of 11 minutes out so i assume with there being 5 episodes less they cut out a hell of a lot more on the remaining 9 episodes to cut it down to a 7 episode series

Just to note, Crunchyroll doesn't hold home video rights for Symphogear. The Crunchyroll logo is nowhere to be seen on the Discotek releases. You have to remember, many titles Crunchyroll has only streaming rights to, not home video.

And it looks much better than I initially anticipated @14:20. The broadcast-ready master that aired was a rather poor conversion for 1080i50.

The City Hunter movies and specials are brand new upscales that the publisher in France just completed weeks ago, they look far better than we anticipated. While not QUITE on the same level of AstroRes, it's definitely using some sort of AI/machine learning scaling method.

Like the Clouds, Like the Wind, is now No Longer Available on RightStuf. https://www.rightstufanime.com/Like-...cid=81k6_1bfmq
Forgive me if I’m wrong, but didn’t someone mention here that this film got a better remaster recently? I feel like Discotek might release this as a Steelbook in the future but use the newer master instead?

So, I listened to the live version of Otakon's Discotek day panel and one thing that didn't make it to the livetweets is that they have 2 Warehouses and they are both full, And next year they are ramping up production, claiming 10 titles a month, not sure if that was hyperbole or not, but either way this means they are going to let a lot of their older titles go out of print.

Thankfully I'm all caught up with them but this is great information to pass along thank you.

Were there any specific titles that were mentioned? I have a few of Discotek’s older titles left to see if I like in them or not.

From what they were saying at the panel I took it as they will let us know in advance if titles are going OOP for warehouse space. The J9 stuff sounded like it took them by surprise and tried to tell people as soon as they knew.

Yeah, they said they'd let us know in advance, so I'm just gonna slowly grab older stuff here and there and only panic when they give us a warning.

They've been hinting even before the J9 Acrobunch stuff that they were going to be letting older stuff go OOP so I have made sure to pick up anything I want during the sales. RS's filter to list titles from oldest to newest comes in handy when figuring it out.

Yes, I remember, at the time they said you should start getting nervous about anything 2014 or lower.

I picked up the Gaiking DVD for that very reason, 'Course, jokes on me now that the SDBR got announced.

I think my oldest "want" right now are the Mazinger Z DVD sets which are 2013, I belive but I just know an HD set will be announced the moment I do.

Then perhaps you should. For the greater good.
