Finally something I'm really excited for. I've been waiting for this one out of all the reveals at the end of last year. Even if the other 5 films are flops, I'll be pleased because we got this one.

Nope it's a comedy, mildy violent compared to is other works.


Good news though, as it's the first English friendly release and can now retire my final Argento DVD.

If someone were to give me a synopsis of the movie without telling me who directed it, I'd have brushed it off as some kind of boring 70s made for TV film. The description that it has "comedic" elements also puts me off for some reason. However, it is that I know it's by Dario Argento, that's the only reason I have any modicum of interest in it. Still, not sure that's good enough to want to blind buy it. So, for now, it's 0-3 for me, unfortunately. Maybe down the road, I'll still end up giving it a shot. For those who have seen it, does it have the usual 70s-80s Argento flair?

0-3 for me as well. This seems so far out of the box for an Argento film that I'm not willing to blind buy a likely expensive UHD on Black Friday. Maybe during a sale next year. 5 more titles to go. I'd like to have at least one film from my wishlist, which currently consists of Blu-ray upgrades. Give me either Door Into Silence or Caribbean Papaya and I'll be happy

If you are looking at The Five Days of Milan to see a master of cinema work in a genre he’s not at all comfortable in, you will find allot here. If you are a diehard fan of Italian comedies, you might have a chuckle or two. But for most others, this will be a slog to get through. A couple moments that stand out: there’s a scene where our heroes are assisting a women giving birth by using a water pump. Played for slapstick. Their aim is not the best. Also a scene where a man has a hand grenade blow up in his face. The burn and disfigurement makeup here is great! Uncharacteristic of the rest of the film. And once again played for slapstick. The smoke clears and the guy is blown up but still alive and reacting to it like it was a Warner brothers cartoon. The version I saw was a vhs rip and may have been cut. Still gonna pick this one up. Been waiting along time to see it restored.

True 5 days doesn't sound great on paper but it's Argento and if it has any Sergio Leone comparisons, which he did collaborate with, I'm excited.

Just recieved another severin disc with little scratches all over the surface. Nothing deep or drastic. But at least 10 small faint hairline scratches. They're the only label I consistently get this with. Just going to start getting their releases second hand as some of their new discs look used anyway. It's at least every 2nd or 3rd disc I get from them has this problem. I reckon the company they use to burn the discs needs to give their machinery a good clean or something.
