I had the same problem, you just need to speak up and talk to someone directly. Usually they will send someone shortly thereafter, but you will need to be a bit patient while you wait.

Finally got around to finishing mine! Looks great, if I don't say so myself....I will post the pics as soon as I get the software working on my new computer (I promise!).

It is a 12" shelf, which makes the center of the woofer roughly 16-17" off the ground.

Observations? Well, it's hard to say, primarily because I have also introduced a new pre/pro to my system and therefore improvements in sound can be hard to attribute to a single difference. To achieve comparable bass output, I had to turn the gain on the subwoofer considerably higher, to halfway. This was the recommendation of the pre/pro (Pioneer Elite) manufacturer, in order to enable the use of the "Bass peak" feature. But that is a digression....bottom line, raising the woofer has not given me any noticeable boost in SPL. What it has done, and what I have noticed, is that it has considerably tightened the bass. I think what I am perceiving as "tamer" bass is in fact accurate bass--the sub isn't booming anymore. In that respect, I believe it's a change I will learn to love, much like people who upgrade from cheap to quality subs first experience.

Pics to come!

Looking forward to seeing your pictures. One of the best things about building a riser is the experience and the learning process. In addition, you are now an A/V enthusiast and a skilled carpenter.

we've almost got to make this a picture-prerequisite posting area. Basically saying, you cannot talk about your new riser, you must show us and introduce us to you new riser!!!

I admit it would be cool to see them at the same time you post about making one. I only have pics of mine in my galleries, so would that be considered OK, or would I need some kind of add'l picture software to post the pics within my post? Right now, I can only attach a link to a photo, and most of the time it is too big. I find throwing the pics in my gallery to be the easiest thing for me to do.

Use PHOTOBUCKET forsberg . all you do is upload the pic -witch will be sized to what ever size you want . then it is given an [IMG] tag , Then you copy that & paste it where you want it !!

OK, lets see if this works, the riser is at the bottom of the pic....if it works, I will work on this more after work, if not, then it appears I still have some work to do.....

Not sure what happened, I copied the code to use on another website, and no pic...mmmm...

EDIT: I can't see at work if this worked or not, as my work blocks photobucket pics, but is there a picture in my post now?

Try & copy the Image code ! I don't know how other sites work cause Photobucket is the only one I have ever used .
Another thing I have to do is activate the codes to all the photo's !
You will get it !!!

At the bottom of the page there is A box that says select ' That is one way to activate the codes . Or each pic has A small box to click on to activate that pic..

Well, I am at work now and they block the photobucket site, so I won't be able to find this out until I get home after 5.

If anyone has any step by step advice on how to post a pic from photobucket, please chime in.....this is a new area for me. Actually, I know very little about a lot of the programs people use on their computers to be honest.

1. Choose your file to upload to Photobucket

2. after they appear in your picture gallery, simply move your mouse over the picture you would like to use, and you will see a box appear under the picture, and then click on "Link Options".

3. This now comes up with codes for many different websites and options. I use the code from "IMG for bulletin boards & forums", and the full size code. Simply just click on the code once, and the whole thing will highlight.

4. Right click to copy the code, and just past the code into your post on this website, and your good to go!

OK, I did everything except copying the code for "IMG for Bulletin Boards & Forums". I think I used the one you use once the photo shows up where it states something about "if you don't see the website you want to use for your picture, then copy"......or something like that and of course it didn't work. Thanks ice!

Cool, thanks Jason. I'll admit, the whole facebook, craigslist, ebay, photbucket, etc....all of these sites and the software they use is completely new to me. I just spend time on the computer checking my e-mail, other HT sites or here. I am not really sure how to properly protect my computer either.....I bought the LiveOneCare thing from BestBuy and told them to make sure I was protected as much as I need to be. Now, whenever I have an issue, I'm rather clueless as to how to fix it or if I need to buy other software. Throw in finding out what is compatible with Windows Vista, and I am one lost puppy.

Here is a test pic with photobucket...you can now see the SVS sub upon it's riser. I figured it out!!
