ofcourse it's noticable it's a framing error. It plays that way for the whole scene.

Did Disney fix this and rerelease it? I bought mine maybe 6 months ago.

this may very well be a dumb question, but are they still replacing discs?

I think you should be ok.

I picked my copy up in January 2008 and it was fine, but for a while it was luck of the draw whether you got a bad one or not, as the reissue seemed to get mixed in with existing stock at some retailers.

The framing error, although noticed by most during the fight between Will and Jack Sparrow, actually starts earlier. That's why when Jack rescues ELizabeth, you see more Keira Nightley see-through nipples. When framed correctly, you only catch a glimps of them in farther shots.

I know because I was surprised to see them when I first got the BD. I was then surprised to see them missing when I got my replacement disc.

Does this framing problem only occur with the initial single title release, rather than the later trilogy boxset release as the review here on this forum states?

As I just ordered the boxset and it's on its way. I just wanted to know if I am going to look forward to having to do a disc enchange.

Hmmmm...first I've heard of this. I'll have to watch it this weekend and see if my disc is faulty. Thanks for the info.

Good.

Looking forward to seeing these in OAR HD for a change. Airings on TV tend to be 16:9 fullscreen.

Now, my next set might be The Matrix or Resident Evil set.

Can you provide screenshots of this? Purely for technical reasons of course.
