I bought it brand new at Best Buy for a good deal a long time ago and just recently decided I want to watch it.
I have 400+ movies and tv series' and I've never encountered a problem like this before. There are no scratches at all on the disc.

I also have the older fat PS3 and it does the same thing for me when I try to play The Crazies. I watched it a couple of times when it first came out on Blu-ray and didn't have any issues, but now it doesn't recognize the disc.

Excellent remake of an obscure little known film and very well done and produced i should say and the PQ is superb and nice extras too.

I don't know if this will work but on some discs there is a problem with the BD data utility folder. I've deleted the contents before and it seemed to work for a couple of discs that would not play on my fat PS3.

I watched this for the first time last night(Halloween movie night). I was pleasantly surprised. I liked it almost as much as the DAWN OF THE DEAD re-make. The acting/direction were all solid. I didn't jump out of my seat or anything but I was hooked from beginning to end. Great Halloween watch that I would recommend.

Recently watched The Crazies 2010 for the first time recently. Great horror flick, and I'm surprised I missed it for many years. Violent, creepy, and epic in scope - extremely well-done. I like the sense of unease as the sheriff (Olyphant) is slowly realizing something isn't quite right, but not being 100% what the issue is...until it's too late.

I've never seen the 1973 original by Romero, but I suspect that even when I do I will still prefer this more modern version.

I do like some horror remakes, notably the 2004 Dawn of the Dead - which I found far superior to the late '70's original. But, that's just me....

What about Tom Savini's NIght of the Living Dead 1990?

I don't care for Dawn remake (I think Land of the Dead is way better) but I dig The Crazies remake still.

Excellent movie.

People who want a movie about a deadly virus/disease should have seen or should see this than Contagion, Songbird or some other flick everyone knows.

I know some folks describe the infected in this film as "zombies," but I'd just call them "Infected" or "Infected Humans." The infected people aren't really braindead zombies as you'd see on other movies and at times they're conscious of what they were doing.

Careful what you put in your bodies. It's always a good idea to read the list of ingredients (even though it doesn't mention everything).

For me, this one has aged very well. It's packed with viable action, solid acting skills, and likeable characters. Very few quasi-apocalyptic, quasi-zombie disaster flicks ever get a big production and beefy budget, like this, with big-star talent. It's a fun watch, exciting, fast-paced, and a great romp. If you like the subject matter, and are an Olyphant fan, you can't lose with this one. I'd line up for two copies of this if it came out on a solid 4k uhd.

Is it just me or is the dialogue audio really poor on this BD? Sounds blown out/clipping during several scenes, although the bass is nice and full elsewhere. Relatively new Martin Logan F1/C1 with Denon setup, but haven't had any issues with other films so far.
