I have a quick question. So I started playing DAO a few months ago but I want to buy the Ultimate Edition that includes everything. Will I be able to buy it and use my save from the regular DAO game to continue.....or will I have to start a new game?

Your saves will be compatible. Also, you will have to install the DLC to your HDD (7GBs), but will be able to use the original disc (non-UE) to play them.

Ooh but what I was saying is, basically after you finish your main playthrough, and start a new one in Witch hunt, it will ask to create a new one or import. Import your other character and go through it. However you end witch hunt will somehow reflect what happens in Dragonage 2 when you import your character from the first.

I think there is a way to transfer your files using a direct connection between machines (USB). But I think you are forced to delete them from the origin machine in the process.

This could be difficult. I have more save games for three characters than I care to count. Which one has which decisions in it I could never tell.

The mage can be fun, you have a lot of spell combinations that you can try out and some of them are pretty impressive. Being a warrior is pretty much hack and slash.

Just beat the game and I'm sad it's over. That's one thing I hate about games like this, you spend so long with all the characters getting to know them, go through all these hardships, leading to the inevitable final battle and then everyone splits up and the game is over. I don't get that feeling often in games but it would be the same way I felt after I beat Ocarina of Time. You defeat Ganondorf and after all that, you just go back to being a kid, and the game just ends. Sometimes when a game draws you in like that, you don't want to see it end.

I don't think I can access the DLC though since PSN is down. I was going to start working on that and make a new character. My first playthrough was very inconsistent. I would do one thing then go the opposite direction. L
[Show spoiler]ike I killed the Followes of Andraste, then I still poured the Dragons Blood in the urn. Then I killed the Golem guarding the Anvil, but I wound up destroying the anvil anyways
. Some of the decisions were so hard for me to choose. It makes me really want to go back and see all the other options. Even reading the short bits at the end was sort of sad. Kind of seeing the effects of your decisions. I tried to play a good character but I definitely did some unworthy things. But I just played the game how I would. I think it makes it all the better that way. I'm really excited to play again. I have Dragon Age II to play but I don't think it will be as good as Origins. I'm just interested to see if Morrigan

You can import your character into the sequel.

I'm getting close to the end of the first game myself, finally. I definitely plan on carrying the character over.

I thought you could but I wonder how it will effect the game since it's a totally different character. Thanks for the heads up though

Like I thought, you can't access the DLC while PSN is down so I made a new character already and starting a new playthrough. I love this game.

You can't import your character into Dragon Age 2. You import the decisions that you made in DAO to DA2....no the character. You're playing as someone else entirely in Dragon Age 2.

I like my character though. He was the most badass Grey Warden there was. I think I'll start up DA2 tomorrow though, while I continue my 2nd playthrough of Origins. I just really want to see how it carries over. I was hoping Morrigan was in 2 but I see it's Flemeth instead.

Yeah, but Flemeth's a whole lot more wicked than usual...

That she is While I still want to play Origins, I feel the need to satisfy my curiosity by playing 2 as well. I don't know if I should wait until I'm completely done with Origins or can I play both at the same time?

That might depend on whether or not you want to import your gameplay decisions from the new playthrough to DAII. If not, then it probably wouldn't hurt to play them both at the same time.

Got me a decent level 18 warrior in the first game, whom I've named "McLuvin." Once he's done, I plan on importing his decisions into the sequel. I figure that'll be the easier way to get the "Epic" gold trophy (either for playing DAII twice, or once with an imported save).

I decided I'll just wait until I'm done with Origins. I choose to be a Mage this playthrough and I'm enjoying it. Choosing Arcane Warrior and Blood Mage is ridiculous. I do a ton of damage. This playthrough is a lot different than my last though. I'm actually doing more quests and getting a lot better items. Other than Morrigan, Leliana, and Zevran, everyone doesn't really like me much. I make a decision and one person agrees, I make another and someone else disapproves. I can't please everyone! Maybe I'm a better overall person this game becuase Morrigan doesn't respond to me the same way she did my last game. This playthrough is much better, but I enjoyed the first. I just can't wait for PSN to come back onlne so I can play the DLC. How exactly do you do the DLC, like Awakening and such? I only saw one place on the Map, Sulcher's Pass for DLC. Just wondering if it pops up on the map or do you just do it through the main menu.

Some DLC is on the DAO map. Awakenings is a different setup. Others are not, and you just play them with the character you get (like Leliana or the Darkspawn).

I'm assuming, to splay Leliana's, Moorigan's and Awakening, you have to start a new game, correct? Cause I still can't figure it out from in the game

Some? I only see Sulcher's Pass for DLC and that's it. But like I said, you can't play any DLC without PSN. I'm upset now. I was going to start Dragon Age II today since I just finished Origins again but now I'm seeing it also imports the DLC as well. I'd rather have all my decisions carry over because I'm going to the play the DLC. I don't want to miss whatever carries over to DA2.
