That may partially be the truth with Petersen. He's clearly happy in Boise and making a ton of money (especially considering the cost of living in Boise). He's pretty much got a job for life in Boise, but if he went to a school like UCLA and couldn't get the program on track then he's out of a job in 4 years and then what? Dan Hawkins helped make Boise a national power and then left for the money the Colorado job offered. 5 years later he was out of a job.
I used to think Peterson would leave for the right job but at this point I don't know what that job would be. He wasn't interested in Florida, USC, Ohio State, or Penn State. I could maybe see him taking the Oregon job if that ever came open. He was an assistant there before he came to Boise and it's a school that has a lot of recent success and good facilities. |

![]() EDIT - WVA up 63-20 and counting. This is one of the ugliest bowl games I've ever seen. Last edited by ChadFL; 01-05-2012 at 03:10 AM. |

That was ugly! The ACC really needs Miami and FSU to get their programs back in order. It lonely here at the top. For some reason, Beamer just couldn't beat Clemson this year. Obviously, the Hokies were the better team, but they just couldn't get past Clemson. Sort of how, back before the Cowboys were a top team, Oklahama always struggled with OSU. Sure, Oklahoma was the better team, but they always had trouble.

After going 0-2 in BCS bowls this year, the ACC is now 2-13 all time in BCS bowls. They have the same number of BCS wins as the WAC, and fewer BCS wins than the Mountain West (3 wins). 14 schools have as many or more BCS wins than the entire ACC.

Looking at this website, I am not arriving at the same 2-13 ACC bowl record that I see pasted in all the news articles. http://www.bcsfootball.org/news/story?id=4809856
Virginia Tech: 1-4 FSU: 1-4 Clemson: 0-1 Georgia Tech: 0-1 Wake Forest: 0-1 Maryland: 0-1 Miami was 3-1 in BCS bowls while a member of the Big East, and Virginia Tech was also 0-1 in BCS bowls while a member of the Big East. Miami has never qualified for a BCS bowl since joining the ACC in 2004. Last edited by wilky61; 01-05-2012 at 02:44 PM. |

But I am still not arriving at the 13 losses (unless they're counting VaTech's one Big East loss but not any of Miami's Big East wins/losses). |

(Ironically, Miami won more BCS bowls in its 6 years as a member of the Big East than the entire rest of the ACC has won in the 7 years since.) |

![]() So in conclusion, The ACC is 2-13 in BCS bowl games. The worst offenders are FSU (1-5) and VaTech (1-4). Clemson, GT, WF, and MD each have lost once. In addition, VaTech was 0-1 in BCS bowls before joining the ACC, and Miami was 3-1. You ready to do the tally for the Big 10(ish) now? ![]() |

The Big 10 is 12-13 in BCS bowls. Since Big 10 teams travel so well they have been selected for at-large bids in every year but 2000-2001, 2001-2002, and 2004-2005 and have played in more BCS games than any other conference, with the SEC second at 21 appearances.
