Liked Looper and had it on my list, but outside top 10. I don't quite get all the hype. Argo was #1 for me, definitely deserving of Best Picture. I'm actually watching it again as we speak.

for me there is a big difference between "best" and "favorite". i agree Argo was the best movie of the year and deserving of best picture, but in terms of movies i really enjoy watching and could watch over and over it didnt rank as high. my list was based more on favorites rather than what i thought was the best quality film.

Shocked Skyfall fell outside the Top 3, I thought that was a lock. But I guess I underestimate Tarantino.

#3. The Avengers

1,314 Points | Votes: 90 | Peak: 1 (12 Times)

Directed by Joss Whedon
Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston

Rotten Tomatoes: 92% | iMDb: 8.3 | Watch Trailer

"With a script that never forgets its heroes' humanity and no shortage of superpowered
set pieces, The Avengers lives up to its hype -- and raises the bar for Marvel at the movies.
" - RottenTomatoes

"After so much build-up and so much hype, the film delivered with a huge, awe-inspiring bombastic splurge of non-stop action.
Watching The Avengers might be the biggest, most special, and most memorable movie event this year.
" - Al_The_Strange

Damn, I thought Avengers was a dead cert for number 1 (considering it's way better than Citizen Kane according to this forum, or at least a less cynical view of being better than Batman). I guess films do decrease in appeal over time, hopefully Django is number 1 though and not Rises.
