So, as far as another Universal Deal, this is my biggest want:

ROLLER COASTER (1977)

I'd also love:
  • Shocker
  • Raising Cain
  • The Sentinel
  • Village of the Damned
  • People Under the Stairs
  • Nightmares
  • The Serpent and the Rainbow

I have the Critical Mass/Somerville House US blu-ray.

I love the art for it though, didnt they use it for Alamo Drafthouse's re-release a couple years ago, too?
See below.

I own the Original U.S. Blu but I think I may import this one for the bonus features alone... however 2014 will the the 40th Anniversary so maybe the US and Canada may get a special edition release next year?

A new transfer utilizing better source materials would be ideal, but I'm not so sure better source materials exist. I've owned a VHS, 2 DVDs and the US Blu-Ray, and the film has always looked the worse for wear. I don't think we'll ever get a copy of Black Christmas that's truly reference quality in the PQ department.

The German release appears to address some of the issues associated with the previous US / Canada releases. A more robust encode alone, like what has apparently been used for the German release, should at least help minimize, if not altogether eliminate, the issues that exist on those releases. It also looks like Capelight has gone out of their way to fix a number of other issues.

The Eng mono track is absent which is a shame but hey-ho!

The only real issue I have with the new German release is it doesn't have the original Eng Mono track which the US did.

I'd take the Universal Monsters sequels or the Universal Hammer titles over almost all of those. I was somewhat taken aback that Universal didn't release a followup box set this Halloween.

I would want, first and foremost, the rest of the Frankenstein films in a set. Imagine it. A set with:
-Son of Frankenstein
-The Ghost of Frankenstein
-Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man
-House of Frankenstein
-House of Dracula

Then, doubles of:
Dracula's Daughter / Son of Dracula
Revenge of the Creature / The Creature Walks Among Us
The Invisible Man Returns / The Invisible Man's Revenge

And a set of the Kharis movies:
-The Mummy's Hand
-The Mummy's Tomb
-The Mummy's Ghost
-The Mummy's Curse
-Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy

I bet Universal does something with the sequels next year since they did the double dips this year.

I forgot Island of Terror as part of the new Universal deal but I brought it up with Hammer / Amicus titles
Island of Terror is a MUST for any collector of British horror films..really an outstanding creepy monster movie, very atmospheric...I bought those mini resin Silicates online, they are the size of the palm of a hand.
That movie ,along with Without Warning (ahem) still haven't had a USA release on disc..both are great fun.
I also recommend for those that haven't seen the film Night of the Big Heat which has what I like to call the Egg McMuffin Monster...That's what it looks like to me anyway

JUst pray that it isn't upgrades of The Legacy Collection DVDs. I love them, I have four of the six (I just could not live with having She-Wolf of London in my collection or two House of Frankensteins), but to make you HAVE to buy the nine already released to get the rest.... No thanks.

If Scream does another Universal deal, one title I'd like to see them release is The Shadow of the Cat (1961). It's the only Hammer horror film that has not been released on DVD or Blu-ray in the US.

From Universal, I'd like:

THE DARK INTRUDER (1965)
THE CURUCU, BEAST OF THE AMAZON (has never been on home video)
ISLAND OF TERROR
LET'S KILL UNCLE
KISS OF THE VAMPIRE (1963)
THE GLASS MENAGERIE (1987)
RED SKY AT MORNING (1970)

The Black Cat (yeah right....)
Curse of the Werewolf (ditto)
SSSS (not too likely either)
Nightmares
Matinee

Of course I'd love the classic Universal sequels, but those aren't coming from Scream, or Universal either.
